Confederation press conference attended by Members Krzysztof Mulawa and Roman Fritz, on 4 December 2024.

Krzysztof Mulawa:
– A scandal is simply a tiny word. We are dealing with a tender of PLN 17 billion and most likely Polish companies will be thrown out of this tender!

According to the media, PKP Intercity announced a tender for the transportation of 42 warehouses and the anticipation of extending by another 30 warehouses. This is not a tiny amount, due to the fact that it is not PLN 17 million, it is not PLN 170 million, it is PLN 17 billion!

Unfortunately, Polish companies, specified as PESA, Newag and FPS Cegielski, were excluded under the terms of this tender, and at the same time, at the same time, abroad companies join this tender – this is not amazing to us – specified as Siemens Mobility from Germany, specified as Alstom from France and another Swiss company.

Already 1 of our companies, PESA, produces warehouses that will scope 200 km per hr for 1 of the Czech carriers. The transportation of these warehouses is to take place in 2026.

What does the Ministry of Infrastructure do in this situation? The Ministry of Infrastructure does what it always does, i.e. it spreads its hands and shows itself with far-reaching imposibilism, and I remind you that PKP Intercity belongs to PKP S.A. and this company is controlled by the Treasury. We do not anticipate specified a reaction from the ministry, but besides from the Prime Minister, that erstwhile we talk about 17 billion PLN, hands should be spread out. And here we are not only talking about this amount, but all of this will besides consist of employment in Polish factories, placing production lines, but besides taxes.

We will intervene with Mr Roman Fritz in this situation. We will ask whether this is an intentional exclusion of Polish companies on the basis of appropriate provisions under the terms of the tender.
