Russia and North Korea opened the first road bridge connecting both states on September 7. A Kilometer, two-lane crossing over the Tuman River is initially expected to pass trucks, and in late 2026 besides passenger cars. The fresh way strengthens the logistics of the 2 regimes, which is crucial for the war in Ukraine and the safety of Europe.
First trucks on a fresh crossing
The fresh bridge was built on the border of the Russian Sea Country and North Korea. The object itself is about a kilometer long, 7 meters wide and 2 lanes. Along with access roads, the full section is 4.7 kilometres. Chasan border crossing with 10 check-in lanes was besides activated.
The day after the crossing, the first trucks passed. According to the information provided, the bridge is expected to operate up to 300 vehicles per day. Passenger car traffic is planned at the end of the year. To date, the land merger of the 2 states was based on a railway bridge, commissioned in 1959.
From symbol to infrastructure
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Miszustin and president of the North Korean Council of Ministers Pak Thae Song participated in the launch of the movement through the video link. Miszustin called the investment a fresh symbol of relationship and spoke of an unprecedentedly advanced level of Moscow's relations with Pyongyang. Russia is trying to keep its ability to wage a long war, seeking suppliers outside the West. North Korea gains access to the market, money and partner willing to break global isolation. The bridge over Tuman is simply a material trace of this system. It is no longer a declaration from the top, but a ready way for people and goods.
For Poland this means a sober assessment. The conflict in the Far East is not distant exotic erstwhile the infrastructure there can strengthen Russian facilities. Our safety depends on our own defence industry, ammunition stocks and consistent control of routes bypassing sanctions. Moscow's building connections. Warsaw cannot answer only by messages.
