Radosław Sikorski's statements in Kiev, in which he argued that in the event of an armed conflict – Russia would be defeated in six weeks – echoed widely in Moscow. He spoke on this subject, on [portal aif.ru, advisor to president Vladimir Putin Nikolai Patrushev:
"Polish abroad Minister Radsław Sikorski, speaking in Kiev, said that if Russia attacks Poland, Warsaw will defeat Moscow due to the fact that it has an overwhelming military advantage. What is it, empty bravado or should those words be taken seriously?
Aif.ru addressed the assistant president of Russia Nikolai Patruszew.
Vitali Cepljayev, aif.ru: Nikolai Platoovich, you erstwhile met Sikorski. How do you treat his words?
Nikolai Patrushev: Yes, I met Sikorski many years ago. He amazed me with his ignorance of past and Russia. He happily stated that he had never been to St. Petersburg, had no thought of the Council of St. Isaac and another iconic places of the city.
Today, Sikorski and another representatives of the Polish elite claim to reconstruct Polish greatness. In fact, they resuscitate unhealthy ambitions by announcing plans to revive "Poland from sea to sea", make a "sanitary cordon" against Russia and defend Europe from the mythical "Russian threat". Fascinated by militarism, Sikorski does not want to hear the words of the president of Russia that Russia does not endanger anyone, and our country has no reason to conduct military operations against Europe.
It seems that Polish leaders have forgotten past lessons. They forgot how Minin and Pożarski troops in the early 17th century had expelled their ancestors from our country. They forgot how much money the Russian Empire invested in the Kingdom of Poland, which, incidentally, was much richer and freer than another parts of the empire. Warsaw besides deposes the function of the russian Union in the liberation of Poland from the Nazi occupation, in the restoration of sovereignty and power and in the post-war prosperity.
In another words, in his rusophobic madness of Sikorski, like his long-time predecessors, he repeatedly shows his reluctance to guarantee the peaceful existence of Poland, the prosperity of its inhabitants, and alternatively he tramples on the same historical swamp.
As far as the assessment of Warsaw's strength is concerned, the head of Polish diplomacy clearly assesses the military strength of our country, not wanting to realize that during the peculiar military operation the Russian armed forces do not exploit the full potential. Speaking of Poland's military advantage over Russia, Sikorski clearly does not realize that in the event of Poland's accession to the war with Russia, our country will usage the full arsenal of forces and resources it has at its disposal and Poland's statehood will cease to be in 2-3 days."
