He is pleased with any interest which the thought and thought of Piękowska Poland is starting to awaken in fresh years. It can undoubtedly be an antidote to the dominant in our abroad policy and leading us towards disaster by neopromethean orientation.
However, any reflections on Polish Western and Northern lands are accompanied by a barely masked sense of contempt and superiority. This is especially evident in publicists representing the broad right. In the last issue related to the young nationalists of “National Policy” quite a few texts appeared about the leading subject of this edition of the magazine – the thought of a pebbian. any of them are truly beautiful decent. In a few, however, it was possible to feel that the authors would like to format our recovered Earth in their own way, due to the fact that they do not truly like the current social and cultural profile of their inhabitants.
We read about the fact that the number of ecclesiastical marriages falls on these lands, and more and more children are born in informal relationships. That the people of our Western and Northern lands do not vote as they request to – they are far from the formations called right-wing, and in the second circular of the last fewer presidential elections someway did not get active in supporting Andrzej Duda, or this year – Karol Nawrocki. That in general their cultural level is lower than Poles populating east or confederate provinces, which places them on socio-cultural anti-podes of example Podkarpacie.
In 1 substance they are correct – indeed these lands and their inhabitants have their specificity. But it is she who demonstrates their wealth and, more broadly, the diversity of regional identities of our country. The second shows the increasing wealth of the common collection, which is Polishness in its various shades. spiritual practices of residents of Western Pomerania or Lubuska Land are indeed much rarer and little intense than those of Poles surviving in the east of our country. Is that bad? Depends on your point of view. Or is it worth considering whether the Church passed the exam as an institution proposing any kind of transfer to the inhabitants of these lands? possibly it is worth remembering a bit of past and realizing that the Vatican's behaviour – despite the intense procedures of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński – did not indicate that the Holy See attached importance to the feelings and fears of the inhabitants of these lands?
It is akin with the pantheon of heroes of the modern right. A horse with a row of who can explain the idiotic attempts of local right-wing representatives to commemorate in Olsztyn, Koszalin or Pila the alleged cursed soldiers. Were they, as people questioning the full post-war order, fighting in any way for the Polishness of these cities? Or were any of them who operated in the Recovered Lands alternatively than on the side of the Werwolf alternatively than on the hub idea? possibly the inhabitants of Western and Northern lands were to like the historical policy of the IPN under the leadership of Karol Nawrocki, destroying monuments of the only Polish heroes fighting for these areas, i.e. soldiers coming from the East to the Berlin Polish Army?
Another communicative line of the Polish right towards Poles from the western and northern parts of our country is the 1 who preaches a story about their small resourcefulness in life, about pathology among locals based on the National Agricultural Farms, or the large facilities of the day of People's Poland. Yes, these people don't match the capitalist neoliberal story that all Pole is simply a born entrepreneur, and the remainder is nothing worth measuring. Let us remind, however, that it is precisely the formations considered to be right-wing inhabitants of Western Pomerania or Lower Silesia that “reward” the demolition of the achievements of respective generations building the economy of these lands after 1945.
Yes – Polish Recovered Lands and their residents have their identity. An identity to which the anti-communist right will never be able to find. It is an alien body, due to the fact that it negates the historical period, thanks to which we established our presence on the Oder and Baltic. The hub thought of the 21st century will either objectively measure the period and achievements of the PRL, or it will not be at all. In the absence of an alternative, residents of Western and Northern Poland will proceed to vote for liberal formations, simply choosing in their opinion little evil than that which systematically spits on their past and identity. The identity which derives from the People's Poland, due to the fact that only it can appeal to it. And there's nothing to be ashamed of.
