Strong position on politicised "health education"

Below is the position Coalition for the Salvation of the Polish School (KROPS) on wellness education. This position besides applies to the letter from the Bureau of the Polish Episcopal Conference on this substance and to the media attacks on this letter.

We express our full support for Position of the Bureau of the Polish Episcopal Conference, contained in a letter dated 14 May on wellness education.The letter states that sexuality is recognised on this subject in isolation from the context of matrimony and family, that it opens the way to advance sex concept, violates the laws in force in Poland and that it is contrary to the teaching of the Church. We completely agree with that assessment. The Coalition for the Salvation of the Polish School has been presenting opinions in accordance with this position for many months, organizing meetings, conferences and demonstrations, expressing opposition to the introduction of wellness education to the programme basis.
We support the call from the KEP Bureau for parents to discharge their children from wellness education due to the threat of demoralisation. This is possible until September 25. However, we are afraid that in the following years this subject may become mandatory due to the first MEN plans, the modification of which was forced in 2025 by an election run and widespread social opposition. We emphasize that the possible work would constitute a violation of the constitutional rights of parents guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Poland in Articles 48(1) and 53(3) and besides in binding acts of global law.

The substantive discussion is seriously hampered by statements in which the object supporters exposure their emotions, set themselves up in the function of “Catholic education experts”, and towards the adversaries direct discrediting epithets and arguments ad personamwhich have no substantive value.
We request the Ministry of National Education to retreat wellness education from schools.The introduction of this subject is wrong. For a number of years, a number of school subjects have taken up extended wellness issues. In addition, educational-profile programmes and various types of educational projects carried out in schools take up this subject. wellness education replicates these content. It is besides crucial that the introduction to wellness education schools has not been preceded by any technological analyses or studies.
We require the Ministry of National Education to reconstruct the subject to household life.This subject addresses the subject of sexuality in the context of love, matrimony and household and is in accordance with the Polish legal order. It addresses many wellness and prevention issues. We request the Ministry of National Education to comply with the law, the breach of which is rightly pointed out by the Bureau of the EP, stating that: "The imagination of sexuality and sex present in wellness education is incompatible with the Polish legal system. The Constitution clearly emphasises that marriage, family, motherhood and paternity stay under state protection. In addition, there are a number of provisions in education law requiring state institutions to act as household members. Polish law explicitly accepts the existence of 2 genders: male and female. The alleged wellness education introduced into schools violates all specified legislation, and in the long word it aims to change Polish law – to anti-family law and destabilizing sex".
On specified a social issue, concerning the multitude of Polish parents whose children are at school age, we hope that all the faithful in Poland will be acquainted with the right position of the Bureau of the European Parliament. Let the words in each Polish parish read: “You must not agree to the systemic depravity of your children, which is to be conducted under the pretext of alleged wellness education. For the sake of upbringing and salvation, we urge you not to consent to the participation of your children in these demoralizing activities.”
We turn around.to all entities – in peculiar the president of the Republic of Poland, the Marshal of the Sejm, the Marshal of the Senate, Members of the Senate, Senators, First president of the ultimate Court – in whose capacity it remains to submit to the Constitutional Court a request for examination of compliance with the Constitution and laws of ministerial regulations, for immediate action to address to the Constitutional Court a request for examination of constitutionality and compliance with the law of 7 January 1993 on household planning, protection of the human fetus and conditions of abortion, regulations of the Minister of Education introducing wellness education and, at the same time, removing from it the classes of education into the family.
