On 22 May, officers of the Border defender Service in Wrocław-Strachowice conducted an effective action on the A4 motorway. A individual opla was detained, led by a 28-year-old Ukrainian citizen. People of Afghanistan and Pakistan who did not have the right to reside in Poland were besides present in the vehicle.
During the detention, men tried to flee, but after a short pursuit they were captured. It turned out that they were going to cross the border illegally with Germany, which is part of an expanding effort to usage the territory of Poland as a transit route.
A Ukrainian citizen was accused of assisting in attempting to illegally cross the state border and was arrested for 3 months. The Afghan was placed under the supervision of the Border Guard, and the Pakistani was directed to a safe center for foreigners.
This event shows how crucial the Border defender plays a function in securing borders and combating illegal migration. The fast consequence of the officers proved one more time the effectiveness of the state safety services.
