The last message by the leader of the Confederation about the method government proposal by Jarosław Kaczyński was highly harsh.

Mentzen not only rejected the thought of cooperating with the Law and Justice, but besides openly criticized the way the president of Law and Justice acted.

Mentzen pointed out at the beginning that the method government's proposal was a purely PR procedure, without any real chances of implementation:

"There is no majority for the method government. There is not even a candidate for Prime Minister of this method government. [...] There is no and there will be no method government due to the fact that there is no majority.”

The leader of the Confederation not only questioned the seriousness of Kaczyński's proposal, but made it clear that he did not intend to participate in this "game":

“I am not curious in Law and Justice, I am curious in the Confederation.”

Mentzen didn't dress up in words erstwhile he talked about the kind of PiS politics. He accused the ruling organization of deficiency of real willingness to cooperate and usage political blackmail:

"PiS acts like Russia. The Law and Justice only understands the argument of force. You can’t number on the PiS to anyone, for anything, whenever he is grateful.”

In his opinion, Kaczyński's organization treats another political actors with superiority and contempt:

"Jarosław Kaczyński confirmed all the opinions that he has been circulating for a long time, that he is incapable to truly talk to another parties after the partnership."

The culmination of this confrontation was the reaction of Jarosław Kaczyński himself, who refused to meet Mentzen. As he put it:

“I am from another generation, your grandparents, not even your parents. But it is actual to me.”

For Mentzen, it was just another demonstration of the closure of the PiS for any cooperation outside of its own circle:

“Kaczyński showed everyone very well what he truly has in his head and what he thinks about another parties.”

In conclusion, Mentzen clearly cut himself off from any dependence on PiS. He declares that his only political goal is to strengthen the Confederacy and build his own strength:

"I won't get sucked into PiSu games. I'm not gonna let you stand me up as a PiSu appetizer. [...] You gotta build your own strength and then force others to cooperate.”
