Two symbolic events took place just before Christmas: Maciej Duszczyk became Deputy Minister at the Ministry of abroad Affairs, and Szymon Hołownia invited people who crossed the Polish-Belarusian border to the Sejm.
Prof. Dr. hab. Maciej Duszczyk was accepted with hope. He is an expert in migration, author Migration strategies, a political scientist, associate of the technological Council of the Centre for Migration investigation at the University of Warsaw. He was a strategical advisor to Donald Tusk's government from 2008 to 2011, and from 2012 to 2014 he led a squad working on Polish migration policy.
Many people active in the humanitarian crisis or shocked by the events that take place at the Polish-Belarusian border hope that together with the entry of Duszczyk to the Ministry of abroad Affairs the exports will be stopped. However, it is clear that this is not the nonsubjective and precedence of the fresh government. There was not a single word in the coalition agreement on migration, unlike during the election campaign, during which many bad things were said about it and threatened both the PiS and the PO polling spots.
In his exposé, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that he took almost individual work for protecting the borders of Poland and the European Union. I realize and appreciate that after visa scandal Tusk wants to improve the credibility of Poland and avert the scandal, and Poles want to guarantee that borders are not closed. Members of the parliamentary committee on the alleged "visa crisis", headed by MP Michał Szczerba, were already appointed. It is surely essential to clarify the trade in visas, and this requires restoring assurance in Poland as a Schengen country. But isn't it scandalous to maim physically and mentally, to transport, to violate human rights by Polish officers, to kill dozens already on Polish soil?
Will the government's precedence be to keep Europe's borders with human rights, or with the scrolls of Concertina, steel fences and perimetry, which Prof. Duszczyk commends, as opposed to a barrier he does not approve of due to the fact that it is permeable and stands besides close to the border line?
Prof. Duszczyk declares that he wants humanitarian aid decriminalisation, but besides declares his willingness to cooperate with Frontex. Frontex is an EU institution, but of bad fame, an accessory to push-backing people in the Mediterranean, whose chief, Fabrice Leggerie, resigned erstwhile the OLA organization's study leaked to the public, showing violations of law by agency officers.
Her fresh boss, Hans Leijtens, who visited Poland in September 2023, the safety on the Polish-Belarusian border is very popular.
Who gets blackmailed by Lukashenko?
Such priorities show that we are inactive hostages of Lukashenko, Putin, Erdogan, playing their game. They bring migrants to European borders, we renounce the highest achievements of our civilization, which is by all means their best, due to the fact that they are not the only ones who are already the bad ones, Europe is – they show – not better. I'm not saying we should quit any control at all. We should know who's coming, but why should we treat migration as a crime?
It is. writer Gazeta Wyborcza Jacek Gądek on the news that Marshal Holovnia accepted respective migrants at the Sejm for Christmas dinner, Survivors of the Survivor Foundation, who have experienced exports, wrote: “The human instinct of Simon Holownia is besides a political mistake. Huge.”

Why? due to the fact that the fresh government shouldn't provoke haters? Everything provokes them and quite a few them spoke under the tweet of the Survivor Foundation – I read, I do not recommend. due to the fact that he shouldn't show that migrants are people so he doesn't worry about the small ones? due to the fact that it is inconsistent with the assurances of the head of government that he intends to defend the safety of Polish borders? due to the fact that “it fits into the politics of Putin and Lukashenko”?
These are haters and politicians for whom the “hybrid war” was political gold, propelling arms and bringing thousands of officers to the border, putting us in this policy.
Marshal of Hołownia, Poland from this policy Lukashenka and Putin wrote and only firm support of this strategy – i.e. changing stories about migration – has the chance to get us out of the trap set by dictators.
And with the change of narrative, migration policy should be launched, not only based on cooperation with agencies from Europe's bulkheading, but on a multidimensional, learning from the negligence of European countries, where migration exacerbates inequality and benefits from the policies they have proven. Giving the Union's migration policy a new, definitely anti-fascist tone. I don't know if the vice minister's seat is adequate for that, I think it's a task for a separate ministry.
