The Confederation of the Polish Crown proposes an immigration moratorium. “Restore the death penalty”

During the Monday conference (4.08.201025) in Warsaw, Members of the Confederation of the Polish Crown presented the task of the alleged immigration moratorium. It aims to reduce labour migration to Poland, which, according to the authors of the project, is to improve the situation on the labour marketplace and to curb the increase in unemployment among young Poles.

Politicians highlighted rising youth unemployment – according to the data presented at the conference, this rate increased from 10.6% in May 2024 to 13.5% in May 2025. In June, there was another increase of half a percent point, despite the ongoing vacation work season.

The draft immigration moratorium is 1 of 3 legal acts prepared by the Confederation. It aims to reduce the inflow of workers from abroad, while supporting the employment of Polish citizens. “We will free the possible of entrepreneurship,” said Roman Fritz. The Act provides for exceptions for highly qualified specialists, members of families of Poles, refugees and students of day studies. The task besides included proposals for taxation reductions and reductions of ZUS contributions for employers employing Polish citizens.

Second project The bill provides for the extension of the powers of the Polish police to the usage of weapons, especially in the context of the protection of the borders and the safety of citizens.

Third task assumes the restoration of the death penalty.

Mr Włodzimierz Skalik stressed the scale of the migration phenomenon, claiming that foreigners already account for 10% of the Polish population, and in any major cities – up to 30% – “Most frequently they are the largest urban centres. The change of the Polish nation is full," he said.

Skalik besides criticized the activities of Ukrainian employment agencies, accusing them of destabilising the labour marketplace and illegal practices specified as paper forgery, frequently involving abroad jurors. “We want to halt this dangerous, frequently criminal activity. This is what our moratorium serves," he stressed.
