On Sunday, during a short press conference, president of the Board of the KoLiber Association, Norbert Kustusz, announced the authoritative support of the organization for Karol Nawrocki in the second circular of the presidential election.
This decision was taken on the basis of a resolution of the Association's National Council, which already six months ago – unanimously and over organization divisions – authorized the president to support the candidate of the next KoLibra ID Declaration. The voters included both the unpartisan members of the Association and representatives of all main lines of the right: Law and Justice, fresh Hope, National Movement and the Confederation of the Polish Crown.
During the speech, Kustusz stressed that the choice was not accidental:
"The KoLiber Association National Council unanimously authorised me to support this candidate in the second circular of presidential elections, which is closest to the thought contained in the KoLiber Association's Declaration of Ideas. The thought of defending the sovereignty of the Polish state, defending the values of the family, liberal economical ideas. We believe that only Karol Nawrocki at this point is simply a candidate who can guarantee the conflict and defence of those values that we represent.”
KoLibra's support may prove crucial in public debate – The association has been active for years in promoting the free values and training of young right-wing leaders. KoLibra's ideological declaration is based on pillars specified as the free market, national tradition and social conservatism – it is in these areas, according to the Association authorities, that Karol Nawrocki presents the most coherent and credible attitude.
