Charles in the Canal, a communicative of any surprise

I open my laptop, I'm drinking coffee (black, no milk, due to the fact that I'm trying to play adult), I click "ZERO HOUR" and I think, "Okay, let's check out Nawrock. Honestly? I don't anticipate fireworks. I anticipate something between the museum tour of II Republic and the 1986 press release.

Because Karol Nawrocki, previously known mainly for managing the Institute of National Memory, did not appear to me as a candidate for a loose, interesting, but human conversation. I was alternatively expecting diction as from catechesis and mine as from Matejka's picture. That's... that's right.

It starts, and after 5 minutes I catch myself listening. Not out of pity. Not due to the fact that I have to. I'm just listening. The guest speaks with sense, syntax, does not stumble over all word like the average MP in “Cash on the bench”, does not “go” to my bon motami. And most importantly, he's not trying to pretend to be individual he's not. Neither the hipster liberal of Mokotov nor the knight of the cross defence with the image of Our woman in the flap.

Stanowski – you know, he has his pace, kind and ego, but here he played it well. He did not effort to make himself a TVN investigator or Kazimierz Kutz on the pulpit. He questioned, interrupted, sometimes laughed, sometimes doubted. And that's how the conversation came out... naturally.

What amazed me the most? That Nawrocki wasn't trying to make water out of anyone's brain. He did not bring out the Soldiers of the Cursed in all response, nor thundered, nor threatened German. He was, I would say, amazingly calm. possibly besides calm, but in this madness of modern political debate, it is revolutionary.

Of course, after the interview the choir began: “Stanowski spared him”, “Where are the hard questions?”, “This is not journalism!” And you know what? possibly you're right. But on the another hand – possibly that's what made this interview impressive? due to the fact that in the last 3 hours, I didn't feel like anyone was lying to me. And that, unfortunately, is getting rarer, even erstwhile talking to a plumber.

Will Nawrocki become president? I don't know. But did he show that he could go beyond the organization description frame and not sound like an IPN brochure? Yes. That's something.

At a time erstwhile a politician should not pass out on the air, put together 2 sensible sentences to inspire enthusiasm – Karol Nawrocki did more. And I, an old cynic, gotta compose this: I was positively surprised.

Yes, I know – what a time that something like this deserves attention.
But he does.
