No substance what the result of today's Alaska summit, it will go back to history. As they went into history, perpetuating themselves in dates remembered from school textbooks, all these conventions and conferences of emperors, kings and princes of the past centuries.
They will go into history, due to the fact that no substance what decisions will be made (or will not be made) past returns to its usual course. Alaskan Donald gathering Trump and Vladimir Putin shows the return of classical forms of global relations and abroad policy.
First, uniteraryism. Donald Trump is not curious in the UN, NATO, the Organisation for safety and Cooperation in Europe. Not just as organs and bureaucracy. He is besides not very curious in the United States' allies and partners under the statutes and procedures of these organisations. He is curious in the US and their powerful interests – according to his interpretation.
Secondly, a performance of powers. Donald Trump will so negociate the destiny of Ukraine with Vladimir Putin, not Ursula von der Leyen, Friedrich Merzem, Emmanuel Macron or Karol Nawrocki. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . European politicians will only be informed of the main findings, will be active in the improvement of policy forms of implementation and adaptation to strategical decisions if they are achieved. From the point of view of Russia's strategy and policy, by invading Ukraine and maintaining its ability to lead it, it has demonstrated real perpetuity. This happened despite the indirect commitment of the United States and their full alliance block. Moscow challenged the order in force in Europe since 1991, or, in fact, the principles of American global hegemony, which provided that only the US have the right without pardon, by military means to overthrow the authorities and state systems (Irak) or to change the borders of states (Kosovo). Well...
...thirdly, the end of the U.S. global primacy. The very fact that Russia has decided to launch a conventional, regular war in Europe and, leading it for the 4th year, has not been defeated or disciplined by the US and their allies confirms that Washington's hegemony, whose short era was born between 1989 and 1991, is over. The fact that many Polish politicians, analysts, publicists cannot accept is full aware by the emperor of the Americanum Empire. Trump saw that the U.S. did not have the strength and resources to keep global rule. The balance of forces, for many reasons, has changed to their disadvantage, so 1 must play the old, centuries-known way – balancing, intertwining the fight (also war) and negotiations, recognising another global actors as rivals, but besides entities of equal ontological status...
... which at the same time, fourthly, marks the end of the legitimacy of US abroad policy and global governance with a expression of liberal ideology directed towards the utopia of "global democracy", which was to be subject to the selfishness and sovereignty of states "rule-based order". Utopia as old as the United States itself – a state-project of enlightenment ideology, was simply an effort to task an ideology and strategy around the world, according to which the USA itself was constructed. In practice, this cosmopolitan utopia could not be implemented by any global or supranational organizations that did not become an entity of global authorities by the same global consent of “free with free, equal with equal” (we Poles very much like specified utopias, right?). In practice, the thought of global democracy could only be conceived by the US state machinery, which sought not only political advantage and economical exploitation, but besides to form the full planet in its image and likeness – from political strategy to culture.
As a result, the logic of the functioning of the American elites and structures was not the logic of the average national state, but the logic of the metropolitan region built by the Mundi Empire, as they theorized about it Antonio Negriin Poland Tomasz Gabiś. The most crucial mechanics for the growth of this "world empire" was to be proclaimed in Ronald Reagan's time turbocapitalism included in the expression of the " Washington Consensus". Indeed, globalisation was the fastest and strongest at economical level.
The interior contradictions of this expression of the Mundi Empire shortly became known. Free movement of capital and goods overtakes the form of political rule, the first of which was to be the alleged soft power. The main sand in the modes of the trial was the People's Republic of China – it proved unfit for ideology and political force of Hegemon, maintaining control of its own openness to economical globalisation and censoring cultural influence on its own society. It was the effect of China's scale as well as their consolidated political system. They managed to accumulate and capital, and know-how. The Central Committee of the KPCh could thus more easy find the favorable investment conditions for itself, that it faced Americans raised in an eminently individualistic culture that received ideological-political sanctions in the form of neoliberal policies of subsequent administrations in the White House. For investors only this year's balance sheet was important, not the long-term interest of the national economy.
Economic globalisation has thus worked against political. The American elites were not rather ready for the second either. After all, the US did not recognise the jurisdiction of the global Criminal Court. Donald Trump clearly shows how much he believes in the Kantovian dream of a planet republic – inviting Vladimir Putin, on whom the global Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant. He remains the unwavering ally of another figure of specified an order – Benjamin Netanjah.
Meeting Putin is not a whim, an expression of utmost incompetence, or the insanity of the American president, as I frequently hear and read in Poland. It is making abroad policy the way it has been done by most of history.
The variability of rhetoric and gestures is simply a natural feature of this form of politics. In Poland, any hardening of Trump's language towards Moscow was late received with excitement erstwhile he spoke about the failure of Putin erstwhile he announced a shortening of the period during which the Russians were to cease their armed actions (this deadline had passed!) and erstwhile his officials threatened with indirect sanctions against entities buying Russian oil or natural gas.
Excited by the humility with which his commercial dictatorship was adopted by Western European vassals from the EU, Trump has taken a akin approach to them, the tactics of intimidating India. He raised duties on Indian goods to 50% on 6 August, pointing to India as 1 of the main buyers of Russian oil, i.e. as a possible victim of announced anti-Russian secondary sanctions.
A spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of abroad Affairs responded to this by not interfering with Washington's relation with Moscow. India besides signaled that they would not buy American F-35 aircraft. On the same 6 August, it was announced that the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi It will go to China for the first time in 7 years, to the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, which will start on 31 August. 2 days later Modi had a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin, during which he invited the president of Russia to his country to a 23rd bilateral summit. It was reported that the Indians could buy the state-of-the-art Russian Su-57 fighter aircraft due to the fact that the Russians went so far in their offer that they offered origin codes.
Given that Trump has seriously damaged relations with the remainder of the BRICS – the Republic of South Africa and Brazil (as a consequence of the latter, he demanded that the trial of her erstwhile president and his supporter Jair Bolsonaro be terminated), the United States was placed in dangerous isolation among the powers... and are no longer a hegemon. This is why Donald Trump invited Vladimir Putin, which yet buried his dreams of isolation of the Russian leader.
Will we draw any conclusions from this in Poland? Russia will not be isolated. Russia will not be excluded from Europe. This function will be powerfully supported by the same policy which Europe, especially Poland, considers to be its protector. This politician will ruthlessly play a Russian bogeyman against us erstwhile Europeans themselves have no relation with Moscow.
At a time erstwhile the global opposition party's leading organization is doing so, preparing to take power in our country, she wrote in her verbally usurpatorically defined “Polish Declaration” – “It is absolutely essential to put on strict unwavering, strategical economical alliance with the United States Army Poland must be developed in cooperation with the US”. They seem not to realize the geopolitical reality that surrounds them.
