Donald Trump and part of the American business planet have already hailed Democratic candidate for the White home Kamala Harris Marxist, Communist and even fascist. It's evidently just right-wing rhetoric.
Why a fascist – it is not essential to explain; Democrats besides accuse Trump of Fascism frequently and densely, with more rational reasons. I don't think Harris is worth writing about Marxism either; nothing in her biography indicates that she's a fan of this distinguished philosopher. The communist, nevertheless understood – due to the fact that Marxism and Stalinism are a large difference – is not either: it does not intend to overthrow capitalism, trample on the American constitution or give power to the working class. She's not even a socialist or a social democrat.Which I find with real sadness.
The right-wing accused and accused of communism even a millimeter left of each another – Clintons who in practice abandoned the working class and were the first Democrats to be friends with the large American business; Obama, who gave large financial banks the 2008 crash at the expense of citizens, and yet Biden himself, a pure Washington animal who over the decades spent in legislature voted to grow the prisons and to attack Iraq.
In a sense, the Democrats led by Kamala Harris sound even worse than Trump's mutated right hand; now they have taken over the immortal imperial slogan that America is the world's top country that must proceed to lead the planet through active abroad policy. This phrase is due to Trump occupying the opposing position: that the United States is in a terrible situation and has a ruined reputation abroad, and in order for America to become the top country in the planet again, 1 must enter the time device and give it all back.
Successful yearly Democratic Convention, who anointed Harris as an authoritative candidate, fulfilled her task, which is to happily unite all the camps of the party, and there are many of them. It besides included – at least at rhetoric level – the alleged progressive left, due to the fact that both the Social politician appeared on phase in Chicago Bernie Sandersand the MP Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
It is besides actual that the convention saw more women and trade unions than in earlier years. But unification is always a compromise. So, unlike the right hand, the Democrats have established that they will not let the country go back or a millimeter, There are no viewsTo make America decision forward in the coming years, to the left.
So what's the circumstantial plan of the Harris administration? There is nothing on the authoritative website but a biography, an online store where you can order an electoral shirt, and insist on paying at least $10 for the campaign. So it's nothing.
A fewer days ago, CNN broadcast its first joint interview with Harris and her potential vice president, Tim Walz. We learned small from it due to the fact that it seems that their circumstantial plans for the country are simply scratched (although clearly more than Trump's plans). Both Harris and Walz were shallow as they could, plentifully pouring water and utilizing many evasives.
Harris called her plan an "opportunity economy", promising a better life for the American mediate class – a simplification in the prices of products, medicines and housing, assistance to home buyers for the first time and the continuation of the American equivalent of "800 plus" which was introduced at the beginning of the pandemic. In general, Harris promised to proceed Biden's policy, to proceed to heal the economy after the pandemic, to guarantee that the cost of insulin does not ruin older patients, and to encourage the large manufacture to return to the US.
However, despite earlier support for Green fresh Deal, Harris changed her position on fracking (gas extraction by hydraulic fracturing) and stated that it was not in the way to invest in a fresh clean economy. At the same time, it has undertaken to introduce and adhere to certain limits in terms of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions.
Harris spoke highly carefully about migration – although she is liable for Biden's policy in this area. She only reminded that Biden's administration had prepared the alleged Border safety Bill – a border safety bill that did not pass through legislature through Trump's people in the home of Representatives. Harris undertook, without details, that as president she would push this bill through Congress, importantly extending among another things the number of border guards. However, even though in earlier years she spoke about the request to decriminalise the confederate border, in a CNN interview, she announced that illegal border crossing would have "consequences".
However, the phrase came back in this conversation respective times: “My values have not changed” – as if Harris knew that present she is little progressive than any of her supporters might have expected.
Let us besides not anticipate any change in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; here Harris stresses that there will be no fresh policy. She promised to put force on any form of agreement between the parties and mentioned that the eventual goal were 2 states: independent Israel and independent Palestine.
Curiosities: we learned that Kamala had never met Trump personally and that – yes – she might have included any Republicans in her government.
Worse than expected, Valz, who was not asked about plans for the country, but about correcting any of his earlier statements. It turned out that he erstwhile said publically that he knew what it was like to be in a war, though he had never been in a war, and that at any point in his career he was hiding that he was convicted of driving a car under the influence of alcohol. Therefore, Walz fell rather humbly, most of the time silent in half-smile, like a faithful Labrador at Kamala Harris.
There are just over 2 months to the election. The fact that Kamala actually represents the centreright, as could be defined – for years – by the Democratic Party, is of small importance to the left. Left voters will vote for it due to the fact that they have no another choice, in the end Trump's authoritarianism is simply a more frightening option.
And so we are limping in the planet – in the US, in Poland, in the UK – from the far right to the centre right, which sometimes pretends to be left, and back. The chance to get out of the trap of no options so far can't be seen.
