Krzysztof Bosak in the Programme OF THE ADAPOLITY in the diary of the Republic of Poland, 31 May 2024.
Polyxit?
I'll answer that. It is time to start seriously rebuilding the personnel liable for trade policy, industrial policy, not climate policy, in the Polish government. We must have the ability to make regulations on our own. We must be able to make the decision we want to make. For example, if we want to recognise 1 of the EU policies as going outside the treaties and say: this is out of the way, we did not delegate these competences to you, we will not implement this – we must have a staff of experts in the Polish government who knows how to lead these matters. For the past 20 years, Polish politicians have given up all programming-strategic reasoning in Brussels and have dealt with only translations of these strategies. It is time to rebuild staff capable of conducting strategical policy in the Polish government.
I have no illusions that change will not pass through the EU institutions. If any changes occur, they will first gain perceive at the level of the Polish society, will uncover themselves in the democratic aspirations of Poles through public opinion surveys, through bottom-up mobilisation, the establishment of any referendum committees, specified movements, the activities of trade unions. It is no coincidence that the biggest demonstration against the European Green Deal was made by trade unions. I have late been approached by trade unions of farmers, foresters, representatives of the automotive industry, and they are all terrified of which way it goes. In my opinion, there will be a social uproar first, a democratic majority in Poland later, and later changes will take place in Poland. Not in Brussels.
This is secondary, whether there is simply a commissioner or a Euro MP like this. This is where these changes must ripen, this is our process. It was precisely the same in Britain. There is besides no request to worry about the EU institutions, but even with one, 2 or 3 MEPs, we are able to do something that fewer people in the media or in the political class are aware of. And I announce it at Confederate electoral rallies, in Białystok I spoke about it, in Katowice, only fewer people listen, journalists do not come there to perceive to what we say. possibly so far, due to the fact that they're not alerting themselves yet.
I announce that we will block the amendment of EU treaties and we are able to do so in Poland. Poles were deceived that 1 associate State cannot block the revision of the treaties. It was a regular fraud that the Law and Justice, Platform, PSL and Left sold to Poles during the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty. The fact is against it. Yes, 1 country can block the treaty change and we will! If there is an effort to further centralise the European Union, we will block it here in Poland. Either through a blocking number in the Sejm, or by winning a referendum, or through a president who won't sign it.
