The minute came again the year erstwhile in the markets and radio the “Last Christmas” went up, and in the churches — thank God — Advent begins. For any it is simply a time of preparation for Christmas, for us Catholics of faithful traditions, it is simply a time of demanding, and at the same time beautiful as a December morning. This is the minute erstwhile the Church tells us to look in the mirror and ask: do I always wait for the birth of Jesus or just for the days off, the red borscht and the carp in the galaret?
The planet is doing everything to kill Advent. He kills him with plastic reindeer, kills him with inventions specified as Black Friday, and kills him with the slogan: “Holy is the time to give gifts”, that is, buying things no 1 needs for money no 1 has, to impress people you don’t like. erstwhile everyone in the crowd runs to the gallery like hungry wolves, we Catholics light the first candle on the wreath and say to it, "Stop."
Advent is not a pre-Christmas mood. It's a fight. Fighting our own laziness, getting utilized to sin and comfort. Rorats at 6 a.m. in a cold church, while inactive dark, and at home a warm quilt — this is the battlefield.
This year Advent comes at a peculiar time. Poland is increasingly sinking in ideological confusion, the household is attacked from all side, and in many dioceses the “spirit of the council” is inactive trying to change Catholic religion into any ecumenical mush. All the more reason to stick to what is old, proven and holy. Trident Mass, Rosary, Lent, Charity — this is our weapon to fight the modern world.
Let us remember what St. John the Baptist said, whose voice resounds again in Advent readings: "Simple the way of the Lord." Not tomorrow, not after the holidays, not "when things get better." Now. due to the fact that if we, who inactive have leftover Catholic instinct, don't start straightening our own paths, who's gonna do it?
Advent is simply a time of grace. The time erstwhile God gives us another chance to convert. Let us take advantage of it: let us stand up for roratas, let us halt caring about unnecessary things, let us make a general examination of conscience, not just a brief confession "on the occasion of the holidays". And above all, let us constantly pray for Poland, due to the fact that if we halt being the salt of this land, who will be?
Let this Advent be different. Let him be well lived by us.
