Starosta garwoliński Iwona Kurowska on 14 September responded to the criticism of ceremonies for uniformed classes in the advanced school in Żelechow. She assured that the event had nothing to do with the MON and did not violate law or good morals. The dispute concerns the border between the school ceremony and the protocol due to the state authorities.
The video caused a political storm.
The case began with a recording from the school defilade at Joachim Lelebel advanced School in Żelechow. While giving interior promotions to Iwona Kurowska's uniform class students, she reviewed the set cadets. She greeted them with the words "Hello, cadets!" and the youth answered, "Hello, old lady!" The ceremony resembled the military protocol utilized with the participation of the president of the Republic of Poland, which triggered a wave of mockery and accusations of embarrassing the ceremony of the Polish Army.
Critics saw in the scene an effort to play the function of superior to the armed forces.
