The Eurovision Festival has for many years been an average hucpa, which is simply a clear proof that mass culture penetrates politics. We talked about this with a friend of Piskorski in the first episode of small Culture.
I know that this festival aimed at mass audiences and artistic values are powerfully pushed to the background there, but what I saw and listened to as part of Polish elimination truly pierced my top fears. It is even hard for me to justice the level of all this due to the fact that I would gotta compose that there was an artistic “shut of the butt after the bottom”. In fact, the full event is accompanied by an organizational scandal, which is hard to explain.
For the sake of clarity, this is not just a charge to the “Great Poliński Empire”. Generally, performers representing their countries at the festival are a galloping artistic degrengolade. This festival, with all its political resources, reflects the full fall of Europe, which culturally commits spectacular suicide. Out of pure curiosity, in fresh years I have been trying to follow the trends of Eurovision and truly beyond the fewer exceptions (absolutely omitted) representatives of all European countries (and not to know why Israel) were doing the same. I'll talk about that in a minute. Honesty to the Reader requires me to briefly present the participants of home elimination.
Eurovision mission – performers
Yes, I am aware that this is simply a ‘song festival’, so it should be entertaining, light, etc. I'm truly a fan of good songs, but isn't that ridiculous?
I justice each of the 10 featured artists only and exclusively for performing at the Eurovision eliminations for a simple reason – I did not know any of them before. I have no intention of insulting anyone, and if individual from the Readers knows the performer on a better side, I will be grateful for the indication. For what I heard this year was a grim joke. By being polite, I'll describe everything briefly, and I won't be bullied by detail. Let me just add that the executive level was rather dramatic – most of the artists just sing badly – those will be left out of silence...
NATAZA "Lift U Up" – I am silent
"You Do Me"
AHLENA “Booty” – any terrible joke...
DOMINICZ DUDEK "Be Good" – pure sung, very interesting timbre, there is any melody, chorus possible to separate from the verse.
ALICJA SZEMPLINSKIA "New Home" – a good singer, interesting composition, but does not kidnap in any way
FELIVERS "Never Back Down" – in my opinion the most interesting proposal. Well done, catchy chorus, there was something on phase too imaginary choreography and it was apparent that they were doing it naturally.
MAY HYŻY "Never Hide" – I am silent
JANN "Gladiator" – distinguished by its image and expression, unfortunately the song was poorly sung.
"Solo"
YAN MAJEWSKI – “Champion” – purely sung, nothing interesting
These short descriptions may seem insolent on my part, after all, they are the eliminations of the most crucial European music festival! It's not any malice on my part, but a desire to avoid her... Theoretically, each of these artists could represent us, so it should be assumed that after the performances there will be more good things to say about them than the fact that KILKORO FROM THEM fulfilled the absolute executive minimum – sang clean!!!
I am not speaking about the songs, due to the fact that most of them sound like they were written by any application "Hiciory for Eurovision".
Last year I had the honor and large pleasance of being a justice at the local children and youth song competition in Grudziądz. rather frankly, almost all kid there has taken me more than our candidates for representatives of Poland on Eurovision.
At first I explain – I have no problem with Polish artists performing works in English. I myself am a vocalist, leader and co-composer in an English-speaking band. In any case, erstwhile it comes to music, I never hide that I'm an absolute Americanphile. 1 day I will most likely compose about it, but well – this is the way it is, so I do not justice here from the position of a mad purist who would like to hear only his native language. However, 10 artists were chosen from among the very many submitted, so I can not ask: there truly was no 1 who sang Polish and could enter this phase of elimination? Another issue is the level of this English, which leaves a lot to be desired in some. Most of the performers sang incomprehensiblely, and there were others whose performance was more like rumbling / gibberish...
But not picking on it anymore. I realize – English is simply a universal language present whether anyone likes it or not. It is much worse that, having listened to all the works from the "heart of Europe" but besides any from another countries, I find that they are almost no different! There is no component of your own music – whether in a compositional or even an arrangement! Each composition is any kind of mush which is the consequence of the most primitive Western trends of music for the mass consumer.
After all, Europe has an highly rich musical tradition, always rooted in regions. All this wealth of conventional musical forms could be translated into contemporary pop forms and be stubborn to sing besides in English, but alternatively was put on a westernized mush, from which it is hard to extract something interesting and that is most likely my biggest charge.
Anglo-Polo...
I mean disco-polo, but in English. I can't say otherwise. Yes, I know – any of the performers were working on any enriched forms, but it went downhill. In the overwhelming majority, these songs had stupid tunes (or were deprived of them), harmony and lyrics (if at all understood). The defiance of the full in the reception was very bright, due to the fact that in almost each of the performers I had the impression that clothing and choreography were more crucial than the artistic, executive and lyrical layers! Synchronous dances, dynamics, props or company of dancers – all are large things that have worked for years, but must be preserved a solid basis in the form of composition and performance. any of the artists barely caught their breath during jumping and dancing! Here is the “outside” iron regulation of the Eurovision competition – the vocalists must execute live! They can't usage the alleged playback. And that, unfortunately, was heard in most...
Unfortunately, it was the Anglo-Polo that hit me the most, the song that won, or “Solo” Mrs. Blanki... I'm not going to talk out of it, but this song has no artistic value. It's virtually disco-polo in English... Unfortunately, fresh years have caused the media to form consumers' tastes in this direction by putting specified mush in their throats.
Which doesn't change the fact that Blanka Stajkow, vocalist and model with Bulgarian roots, officially became a typical of Poland in the 67th Eurovision Song Contest. The song that he would sing in Liverpool was a hit of the summer, and on YouTube it was played more than 12 million times, making it the most popular of the preselections. A 23-year-old will have the chance to present it to a wider audience. 12,000,000 plays on YT... I admit it, it's impressive, and it makes you think. The point is that in the era of universal imbecileism present on the Internet, erstwhile it is patostreamy (who of the Readers does not know what it is, let it look, but I inform – on their own responsibility) accomplish millions of views, however, individual could verify the executive level.
The performance at the elimination shows rather spectacularly that Mrs. Blanka simply can't sing. The same applies to most performers presented during the event. Does no 1 in the decision-making body truly know that, with universal access to the programs of "comprehensors" can be equalized in studio conditions, in fact, any falsity so that it yet seems as if the performer can sing? I don't think so, but they know how to origin a scandal!
Standards III of the Republic of Poland preserved
That's rather enough. I tried to get through a variety of articles explaining what truly happened with all the text voting, the announcement of results, the judges' deliberations, etc.? In a nutshell – a immense part of viewers, artists and commentators accuses TVP that Mrs. Blanka has been substituted. She was simply expected to win these eliminations even though the audience's favourite was another performer. Classical genre.
Red. Adam Butcher Radio Zet writes: “The election of the Polish typical for Eurovision has caused a scandal. The affair was decided to comment on the European Union of Broadcasters, which surely noticed the discontent of viewers of Polish Television. Will the TVP authorities have problems during the Eurovision Song Contest? (...) The announcement of Blanka as a typical of Poland met with large discontent of fans of the global competition. All due to the TVP's doubts about the "set". According to some, the jury specifically underestimated Jann's assessments, who was a favourite of the audience, so that the executives of the hit "Solo" had a chance to win".
In general, journalists request a real voting table, the European Union of Broadcasters speaks critically, Edita Górniak She's crying, and the TVP authorities are taking water on her mouth... ZENADA!!! A cult, final scene comes to head with “Boys don't cry” Lubashenko, in which the mob boss (Bogdan Lazuka) talks about his son's production career:
– Silno-arms, check out this full music manufacture – what is there to earn? (paraphrases)
– I'm afraid, boss, people decide...
– Then check out what kind of people and talk to them your way.
That's what makes me wonder. erstwhile we enter, for understandable reasons in this political-cultural hucpa, we either let the reins go and let the people decide, or we collect the jury that sits and gives their decisions without any fun in texting or online voting. Simple? Yeah, I guess so, but...
It came out like always.
I am not opposed to our participation in events specified as Eurovision – I absolutely realize the political request (there is nothing to hide) to participate in this and I would even have the thought of how to usage it in our favour. That's enough! I was guided by the TVP!!! I seldom praise the current authorities and their largest propaganda tube, tv Poland, but I gotta compose it. The year 2022, our typical at Eurovision – Krystian Ochman – absolutely phenomenal vocalist, wise composition, wonderful arrangement and performance, which took us to the heights. It was not a song in kind I would love, but an artistically young Pole simply “closed the counter.”
That would be the way for us! Of course the Ukrainians won due to the fact that they were expected to win – specified the wisdom of the stage. all year it is variable, but we could show consistently that in fact here it BIRES THE HEART OF EUROPE and send just specified artists, and not missing them in Poland!
Just for fast – late I drowned absolutely in your work Natalia Sikory. Do we want more lyrical? Here you go. Safran’s Isabella. amusement and with a “tush”? delight – inexpensive Tobacco! We want more contemporary, rappy? 52 Dębiek! Do we want folk and amusement along? I service kindly – Turnioki! There are many large performers who not only present exceptional musical value, but besides have something to say! Both Polish and English speaking!
So, if it is known that from the beginning to the end it is all set under the dictate of political moods, why not “stand across” and anger everyone by presenting always a part of good music? That's our Polish trademark – advanced artistic level! alternatively of swimming with the mainstream of mediocrity, consistently giving people something valuable. I think that even if these artists did not win the festival, in time (after a fewer years) we would draw attention to the fact that artists and works coming out of Poland always come out of the world, and they were rich and bringing something to this planet filled with Anglo-Polo.
The reader may respect me as an incorrect idealist, but where if not in art is the place to express this Europeanism? We fall, we rotation up demographically, economically and civilizationally. It is culture / art that remains a niche in which we can show our influence. That's what we can do, and both the Americans and the Chinese know it, and no 1 can take it from us.
In Poland, after garages, rehearsal halls, cultural houses, out-of-school work outbreaks, schools, neighborhoods and neighbourhoods make and function quite a few artists who could be a force, a actual civilizationalator. Ronald Lasecki often, rightly from where he is clinging to our references to Latin civilization. I agree with that many times, but it must be remembered that what is served to us in the mainstream is not a contribution of civilization. It's all measuring.
Let us be honest – even if Mrs.Blanka with 12 million views wins this political-cultural hucpa, what will be the contribution to the music culture of Poland or even more Europe? There will be another, tiny artistic and hopeless Anglo-polo.
Maybe I'm wrong, but that's not the point, is it?
