In the Anti-War Debate on Escalation

Another 1 of the series appeared on Think Polish tv channel "Anti-war Debate". This time we discussed the threat of further escalation of the war in Ukraine and threats arising from the arms supply to the authorities in Kiev. Another subject was the likelihood of the anti-war movement appearing in Poland.

The discussion was conducted as part of a joint task of Think Polska TV, Pitoń TV, Against Censur and Education Centre Poland – independent net channels on YouTube. They took part Sebastian Pitoń (Piton TV, ‘Mountain Veto’), Rafał Mossakowski (Poland Educational Centre), Konrad Hand (Kresowe), Piotr Jastrzębski (writer, war correspondent), Przemysław Marcinkowski (blogger, analyst). “Thinking Poland” was represented by ed. Adam Laughter. He led the debate Tomasz Jankowski (against Censur).

Participants concluded that subsequent phases of escalation of the conflict in Ukraine pose a direct threat to Poland's security. This threat increases importantly in the face of the behaviour of the authorities in Warsaw, seeking to prolong the armed conflict and supporting further arms supplies. At the same time, the organisation and activity of the peace movement is limited by successive actions by authorities typical of authoritarian regimes, limiting freedom of speech and assembly.

The next “Anti-War Debates” will be attended by guests representing different environments against the escalation of the conflict beyond our southeast border.
