Last year, there was a crucial increase in the number of foreigners in Polish prisons and detentions. There are twice as many as 4 years earlier. The statistic on the overall number of crimes are even worse.

Migrant crime in Poland is increasing dramatically. According to the statistic of the Ministry of Justice, there were 1267 foreigners in prison on 31 December 2020. 4 years later, the number of prisoners was 2407. According to July data, most foreigners are punished for crimes against safety in communication (road accidents), against public order (robbers, fights) and for killings.

Most of them are Ukrainians – 1261, Georgians – 330, Belarusians – 146. On the another hand, 1 citizen, among others, is Rwanda, Senegal, Palestine, Jordan, Morocco and Finland.

The number of inmates in prisons of foreigners does not show the actual magnitude of the increase in crime, not all lawbreaker goes to jail. Most of them receive softer penalties. Here's an accurate statistic:

Year 2016 – 4613 crimes

2017 – 6286 crimes

2018 – 7935 crimes

2019 – 9236 crimes

Year 2020 – 8781 crimes (decrease caused by covid restrictions)

Year 2021 – 10926 crimes

Year 2022 – 15757 crimes

Year 2023 – 17149 crimes
