On Sunday Karol Nawrocki presented its electoral programme. There were many announcements, but 1 peculiarly surprised. The presidential candidate announced his intent to ruthlessly settle the government with unfulfilled promises. "The government is to keep its word, and present promises are not made, and we disagree, ladies and gentlemen. I will get this government to work," he announced from the grandstand.
Nawrocki threw a number: 100 promises to settle. Where did he get this?
The coalition agreement on the basis of which the current government was established contains 24 circumstantial commitments. Among them, the separation of the Church from the State and the annulment of the judgement of the Constitutional Court of 2020 limiting the right to abortion. Is Nawrocki going to settle the government with these promises? If so, possibly his presidency will prove to be a salvation to women's rights?
The 100 promises Nawrocki spoke of are most likely a mention to the 100 specifics per 100 days announced by the civilian Coalition in the parliamentary campaign. I hope that the announcement will be made on the first fire: "abortion by Week 12 will be legal, safe and accessible" and "we will introduce a law on partnerships". Although the Sunday words of the “independent” PiS candidate that “marriage is simply a union between a female and a man”, make him uncertainty whether he will press the government for LGBT+ rights.
Nawrocks in his speech mentioned Tusk's promise about fuel price. The current Prime Minister during the run stated that gasoline should cost PLN 5.19 per litre. However, this was not a formal commitment by the government or an component of the programme.
So does Nawrocki want to impose a top-down price regulation on Orlen? Or possibly you just catch the catchphrases for the electorate, assuming that this 1 is counting on awesome appearances, but does not care about facts?
If he truly intends to settle promises, he should look into the programs of all coalition parties. due to the fact that if the Civic Platform declared liberalisation of abortion law and partnerships, then the PSL surely did not promise this in the campaign. The Left wanted a revolution, Poland 2050 put on more centred demands. Does Nawrocki intend to force the parties to implement contradictory demands?
Karol Nawrocki announces that Tusk will account for his promises, so I keep my fingers crossed so that, after Nawrocki's win, we can clear him from forcing the government to deliver a chapter of the Church from the state, and Tuska from bringing abortion rights to Week 12 and partnerships.
