At a time erstwhile everything – dating, shopping, sex and work – is online, it takes on peculiar importance the bonds that arise in offline reality. erstwhile some, alone or locked in their bubble, practice netactivism or discharge, and consider it an expression of political commitment, others build tangible relationships at that time, which in time bring far-reaching results.
I am not saying, of course, that these others do not usage the net to preach, form ideologically or simply admit how many are “like me”. However, they take this next step and strive intensely to meet in a planet outside the screen, and another, already together, confronting other, unknown or hostile narratives. And the value of specified an approach in the planet of failure of social ties, increasing apathy and demotivating electoral techniques is politically a goldweight.
Do you think any kind of environment is marginal and presents bizarre values and views? What if it's in the streets and you're not? Not only will their people admit each other, but they have been able to prove themselves in action and make bonds. They trust each another and believe they can number on each other.
This is the social capital that has been written so many peans in a general libelpht. civilian society that so loved NGOs from strengthening, improvement and inclusion. Citizens' movements in our troubled homeland are not only a conflict for the rights of animals or minorities, but also, perhaps, above all, hooligans of sport, anti-vaccinators, anti-abortionists, folk and parishes.
Fans of their cause
Each of these environments offers real contact with others, a shared experience of things and events, a structured yearly cycle and recognizable values and hierarchy. The hooligan rides distant games and setups, she is clearly visible at the stadium, for another fans doing as a model in fanatical dedication to club colors or even though she has the fear of respect.
The Hools break the law together, but in their noble intention, which besides binds them together and builds strong bonds. And so it takes years for the hooligans to take over the football club (case Vistula Kraków), local criminal organisation (Gdansk, Białystok), or they'll just change themselves in the city of the President, as happened in 2024 in Chorzów. Let us add to this "pilgrimages of fans" in which the president-elect participated, at 1 time (as the hooligans themselves say in their social media) the character of the cover of the most celebrated magazine "Fanatics" "We are fans" and we have full bingo. Their parallel planet has merged with our planet and is even more so.

Opponents of vaccination besides have their yearly rhythm (cyclical demonstrations, conferences "What a doctor won't tell you"), characters of the movement ("independent" doctors, "demonstrate the truth" of publicists, "unbreakable" activists), codes and slogans ("plandemia", "big harma", "depopulation", media (online televisions atRealu24.pl or eMisja.tv, and the magazine "Health without Drugs") and an highly strong sense of mission. As a result, they already have straight from their ranks an MP, Grzegorz Płacz, and are a valuable ally for supporting their parties, in this case the Confederation and the Crown of Braun. Thanks to them, you've got people active who are going to spread posters, make whispers, shout crowds for a rally and a demonstration. You may think of Braun as a glued-out shroud, but to them, he's a heroic idealist, and erstwhile it comes to it, they're gonna vote for him.
Anti-abortionists are equally well organized. They have a network of NGOs (Pro-Right to Life Foundation, Foundation of Life and Family, Foundation of Moms and Fathers, Foundation of tiny Feet, or a full network of FTP groups – i.e. for example Ordo Iuris), their own pages and writings, demonstrations (Marchs for Life and Family), prominent opinion leaders (Kaja Godek, Mariusz Dzierżanowski) and an efficient strategy of action, including the piquetting of medical facilities, anti-abortion vans driving in Polish cities, regular drafting of laws and clear graphic recognition with celebrated "fetal jams“ at the head.
Worthy memories in this context are yet another "cut" support for anti-abortionists, or parish of the Catholic Church. They let weekly meetings in a group, giving a sense of unity and a goal greater than our lives (mushes), being besides a place of ideological formation (chapters) and local facilities (a parish building and rectory). The parish message is supported by many media (from the weekly “Niedziela” and “Sunday Guest” to Radio Maryja and tv Trwam), and the sense of community additionally supports pilgrimages.
It is worth adding that in agrarian areas and tiny towns parishes are frequently 1 of the fewer structures of a social organization, so it is hard to wonder that then moral conservatism dominates in agrarian areas, and in elections Karol Nawrocki takes the full rate.
Most frequently there is no alternate to the "church" and its many buildings. At the same time, the parish is attached to the assets of the full Church, which is the largest, after the state's treasure and its companies, Polish landowner and power in real estate, so its capabilities are much greater than any local organization. The parishes can besides supply inexpensive colonies for children, material assistance and logistical support for whom there is no competition outside the state.
Not network, but networks
You don't like PSL? "Corumped nepots and a organization walking on a developer and lobbyist bar," you say? Meanwhile, it has 73,000 members, close relationships with volunteer fire brigades, agrarian housewives, agricultural cooperatives, agrarian youth organizations, local sports clubs, hunting circles or foresters. And all these groups organize picnics, harvests, anniversaries, matches, barbecues, fairs, festivals, competitions and celebrities. PSL is not only the most many organization in Poland, but an organization networked so that others do not even have a chance to dream of specified a scope of activities. Therefore, it is not amazing that then regularly it collects +5%, due to the fact that it suffices that local activists who will run these networks, so that at the average attendance there will be adequate votes to give 30 leaders a warm position in the Sejm.
In the past, besides in Poland (e.g. in the second Polish Republic) practically all major parties (chadeces, socialists, communists or conservatives) had specified a network of ideologically related organizations in their back office. She besides ruled in PRL PZPR not only with SB and MO, but through the full network of various "transmission belts". Similarly, the solidarity opposition tried to organize itself.
Today, however, as can be seen from the examples of Palikot's, Kukiza or Holownia's movements, the parties are alternatively focused on political "start-ups" and, after one-time mononetisation of political profits, they dissolve like smoke in another groups. And existing for 130 years in various PSL emanations continues and seems to last due to the fact that the networks on which it is based do not intend to disappear. They are real, offline, give contact and common trust. And that you don't like their goals and values? Well, you either agree to the regulation of their representatives, or you'll start making your own. There is no another way out.
As it turns out, despite all the voices shouting about the crucial function of social media or AI, the most crucial in building political victories are offline actions, all the real networks you create, the hands you give, the thoughts you exchange, all situation erstwhile a surviving man meets a surviving man and bonds are built. The structures that then arise, and the trust that they build, are priceless.
And sure, it's more fun to explain to yourself the deficiency of success with Russian influences, bribing voters and surrendering. pushy propaganda. These factors, yes, have any influence and should not be underestimated. However, in order for them to work, there must be real networks in which they can spread and gain audibility and visibility. Not only on the Internet, but above all “in the world”.
So, alternatively of complaining about the mysterious and completely magical causes of right-wing victories in Poland, it is worth asking yourself – how many networks of this kind do you operate? How many “partys” were there for something, not just dancing and dancing? How frequently have you faced the indifference of passers-by at a demonstration? How many posters did you get out? What did you do for any case another than throw a penny at a drop? It is worth learning something from the perfect opponent – due to the fact that it is 1 thing that is wrong, but how the another works. And in Poland it works very effectively.
