What is an Energy Bon?
An energy voucher is simply a one-time financial benefit granted to households to compensate for partial increases in electricity prices. The rules for granting and paying out an energy voucher were laid down in the Act of 23 May 2024 on the Energy Bone and amending any of the laws aimed at limiting the prices of electricity, natural gas and strategy heat (Journal of Laws of 12 June 2024 item 859).
What are the Income Criteria?
The energy voucher shall be granted to households that meet certain income criteria. Average income in 2023 may not exceed PLN 2500 per individual on a single-member holding and PLN 1700 per individual on a multi-member holding. If these limits are exceeded, the voucher will be reduced in accordance with the golden for gold. This means that any gold that exceeds the income limit reduces the voucher amount by the same value. The minimum amount of the voucher is PLN 20.
How do I apply for an Energy Bon Online?
From 1 August 2024 it will be possible to apply for online energy vouchers. Applications can be submitted in respective ways:
- Internet form available on the website of the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
- ePUAP Platform – allowing to send requests electronically.
- App mCitizen – a mobile application that allows for electronic submission of applications.
Signatures required
An application submitted in electronic form must bear a qualified electronic signature, a trusted signature or a individual signature. This ensures the safety and authenticity of papers sent electronically.
How to Complete the Conclusion?
A ready-made model for an energy voucher application was published in the Public Information Bulletin. For holdings whose main heating origin is supplied with electricity, the voucher amount is doubled.
Where do I submit the motion?
The application shall be submitted to the mayor, mayor or president of the city liable for the residence of the applicant. The municipal authorities have 60 days to consider and verify the correct application.
Payment of the Energy Bonus
The municipalities will pay an energy voucher immediately after its granting. In cases of disputes concerning the granting of a voucher, this process may be extended and the payment may take place even in 2025.
Important Information
If more than 1 individual from the same household applies for an energy voucher, the voucher shall be awarded to the individual who made the application first. The number of persons in the household shall be fixed at the date of application.
