The simplification of household work in primary schools, especially in grades 1-3, became a fact on the date of entry into force of the fresh rules. But how will specified students adapt to compulsory homework in secondary schools? Teachers foretell that the rules of housework may shortly besides change in advanced schools and techniques.
Since April in primary schools in grades 1-3, housework has been importantly reduced according to the fresh regulations. In classes 4-8, housework may be asked, but are not compulsory and are not evaluated. In secondary schools specified as advanced schools and technology, the situation remained unchanged. Homework is inactive mandatory.
However, as expected by teachers, shortly changes can besides scope advanced schools and technicians. Even if the fresh rules are not imposed by regulations, they can be introduced by schools themselves. Maria Włodarczyk, manager of III LO in Łódź, announces the continuation of the practice of doing housework, although in average quantities. He claims that any students will thus be prepared for a strategy of compulsory housework.
Homework in advanced schools – is that necessary?
According to many teachers, changes in the way housework is done sooner or later will besides scope advanced schools and technicians. Even if there are no changes imposed from above, they can appear spontaneously. Jagoda Banaszczyk, a mathematics teacher at XI LO in Łódź, expresses hope that this will happen. However, he notes that many teachers inactive stick to the practice of doing homework they have worked with for years. Nevertheless, he besides sees that more and more people are open to change.
When she noted that students frequently copy tasks from the net or do them on their knees before school, she decided to quit compulsory homework. Now he focuses on intensive work in the classroom, paying peculiar attention to the autonomy of his students. Those in difficulty receive additional support, but homework is not mandatory for them.
Homework without consequences
In any schools specified as VI LO in Lublin, a strategy was introduced in which housework has no consequences in the form of negative assessments. According to manager Marzena Kamińska, this way of action helps to reduce copying of tasks and fraud. Students who want to do additional tasks at home have this possibility, but this is not a requirement.
This example shows that there are different approaches to homework in schools. However, it is worth noting that the fresh rules of the Ministry of Education on the limitation of housework in primary schools do not apply to secondary schools. The work to do housework remains the work of teachers and schools.
