He moved the 10th Parliament of the tenure. The elder Marshal took a vow from the MPs. The laying of it by Łukasz Mejaza and Dariusz Matecki was accompanied by a buzz – possibly even more important. rather quite a few Members and Members left out the phrase "so aid me God" after "married", including key KO leaders, led by Tuski. Those words, the only 1 from the Left Club, spoke for it Luke Litevka, representing 1 of the most secularized constituency in the country – the pine diocese, which has been leading in the rankings of abstinence among the faithful at Sunday Holy Masses for decades.
Besides the ceremony, 2 crucial events took place: Andrzej Duda he appeared before the Chamber as the aspiring leader of the opposition, and Mateusz Morawiecki gave a premature exposé, announcing an even more extremist Eurosceptic course of PiS.
Start of hard cohabitation
Andrzej Duda's speech came down to 3 messages. The first was aimed at the fresh majority and can be summarized like this: no illusions, it will not be easy cohabitation. The president announced that he would stand watch over all the good changes that have taken place in the past 8 years, as well as the law and constitution. This raised joy among Members – understood in the context of at least the night oaths chosen against the law of the judges-dublers to the Constitutional Court. The president declared in this way that he would intervene – whether through veto or directing laws to the TK – wherever the government, trying to reconstruct the regulation of law, would scope for tools that could rise legal controversy.
He besides assured that he would not let the constitutional prerogatives of the head of state to be restricted, which means that he would most likely block the laws ordering the position of neojudges appointed from the advice of the new, most likely unconstitutional KRS. This is not surprising, the president has long believed that the appointment of judges is his prerogative, that he is effective and irrefutable regardless of the advice that the KRS would make. Neo-KRS and neo-Judges, especially those in the ultimate Court, are, however, a major problem in the dispute over the regulation of law with the European Union. Duda's attitude means problem for a government wishing to end it.
The President's second communication was addressed to the PiS Members. He said to them: for the next 20 months I will be the only barrier between you and the settlement plans of the fresh government. For your own sake, you should treat me with more respect than in the last 8 years.
During the speech, he returned to the concept of “a coalition of Polish matters”. This phrase first appeared before the second circular of the 2020 presidential election, as an offer addressed to voters Kosiniak-Kamish and Bosak. At the time, most commentators did not take her seriously.
Today this thought returns as an offer addressed to the Confederation and PSL. The president wants – or at least the head of his cabinet, Marcin Mastalerek, to act as the acusser of the fresh coalition (PiS-PSL-Confederation), which would take power inactive in this term. Duda as her patron could become the leading figure in the United Right camp.
The head of state of gravity does not add the fact that Duda spoke as if he recognized that the government would make Donald Tusk, and at the same time the mission of his creation was entrusted to Mateusz Morawiecki.
Euroscepticism rate
Morawiecki utilized his time to make any kind of premature exposé. He spoke so long and boringly that the Marshal-Senior Sawicki interrupted him, reminding him that he was only going to give a summary of his rule, and Jarosław Kaczyński seemingly fell asleep.
As boring as the form of the Prime Minister's speech would be, the content was important. Morawiecki gave most likely 1 of the more Eurosceptic speeches in his political career. In fact, he spoke the same thing as Jarosław Kaczyński, who observed last weekend in Warsaw and Krakow before the “annihilation of the Polish state” – although little quiet-baroque language and without bunk, dating back to Bismarck's times, and almost Teutonic Knights, anti-German obsessions.
Like Kaczyński, Morawiecki warned against the improvement of the EU treaties now discussed in the European Parliament, which aims to improve the operation of the Union and prepare it for enlargement to the east and south. The Prime Minister argued that the reforms would take distant our right to form our energy mixThey will force them to buy energy from abroad and take distant the chance to decide our national fate.
Morawiecki besides repeated Kaczyński's top manipulation: that the Union is striving to destruct national states and only the Law and Justice can halt it. He urged that the “coalition of Polish affairs” should be established around the Law and Justice and the defence of Polish sovereignty.
Morawiecki's speech and Kaczyński's speech from the weekend show a fresh course of PiS. The organization will focus on a radically polarizing message built around the plans for improvement of the European Union. The Law and Justice will decision to increasingly Eurosceptic positions, increasingly little distinctive from these Confederations – which will besides change the full “geography” of Polish discussion about our future in the Union. Unfortunately, in a very unfavourable direction, due to the fact that with opposition shouting at any effort to improvement the Union, "the eleventh occupation, the seventh occupation" it is impossible to have a substantive discussion.
A fight you can't even lose honorably
Fortunately Morawiecki will not be Prime Minister with his message. It makes his mission even more absurd. A temptation may arise in part of the opposition to put an end to this absurdity through a constructive vote of distrust. But alternatively of reaching for the disputed solutions, it is better to let Morawiecki embarrass himself completely – due to the fact that Kaczyński and Duda pushed the Prime Minister into a fight that cannot even be lost with honor.
