Dr Artur Dąbrowski assessed on 8 September that the Polish school is increasingly preparing young people for adulthood, and reforms limit the influence of parents and content related to Polish and Christian identity. The programme improvement entered grades I and IV from 1 September. A full generation of Poles is at stake.
School is to prepare for life
Dr Artur Dąbrowski, president of the Catholic Archdiocese of Czestochowa, gave a simple diagnosis to Radio Maryja: many young people do not see the meaning of the school and do not feel that the facility is preparing them for adulthood. In his opinion, the Ministry of Education responds to this crisis with further ideological projects, alternatively of rebuilding knowledge, requirements and trust.
Dąbrowski pointed to limiting the influence of parents, removing education to life in the household and weakening the content rooted in Polish identity and Christian tradition. He besides criticized the form of wellness education. He recalled the score of 70 percent opponents of the program, but the Radio Maryja material did not mention the survey from which this number came. Therefore, it should be considered as a caller’s claim, which is not self-verified.
This caution does not invalidate the main question. Who has precedence in raising a child: parents or the state? The Polish Constitution protects the rights of parents, and the public school should support them, not set up as petents who learn about the changes after the fact.
The improvement has already entered schools
The Ministry of National Education presents the ‘Compass of Tomorrow’ as a change leading to a school requiring, supporting and friendly to the student. The fresh programming basis applies from 1 September 2026 in grades I and IV of primary school. The hotel stresses learning through action, interdisciplinaryness, feedback and skills useful in life.
The declarations themselves sound reasonable. The problem begins where the motto of competence serves to blur circumstantial knowledge, and the school alternatively of teaching history, literature, mathematics and work deals with the conversion of attitudes according to current ministerial fashion. Parents are not an obstacle
Dąbrowski argued that parents request to know precisely what their children are taught. This postulate should combine people regardless of organization sympathy. The programme, materials and activities are to be available before their introduction, written clearly and evaluated besides by families and practitioners working with children.
The dispute is peculiarly exacerbated by wellness education. Critics point to the content of sexuality and to the marginalizing of religion. The authority cannot answer these concerns with a condescending message that it knows better. It should show documents, perceive to reservations and improve solutions that violate trust.
Knowledge, identity, responsibility
The Polish school is to give young people tools to live independently and introduce them into the national community. He needs strong learning of Polish language, history, science, knowing of the economy and conscious civic education. Modern methods can aid but will not replace content.
The cost of incorrect improvement is paid for decades. It is carried by a student who enters adulthood without basic knowledge. There's a household who has to make up for it privately.
