Delta Nonstop Flight from Salt Lake City

Delta Air Lines’ (DL) new nonstop flight between Salt Lake City (SLC) and Lima (LIM) marks a strategic move to enhance its international network and strengthen its presence in the Western United States.

This is the airline’s first direct route from Salt Lake City to South America, further establishing SLC as a major Delta hub. With this service, Delta connects travelers from Utah and neighboring states to one of South America’s most dynamic destinations.

The route will operate on a Boeing 767-300ER widebody aircraft, featuring Delta One lie-flat suites, Delta Premium Select, Comfort+, and Main Cabin options.

The aircraft’s configuration supports both premium and economy travelers, ensuring comfort across a range of budgets.

Delta One passengers will enjoy elevated service, including Missoni-designed amenities and curated in-flight experiences.

Lima is the most in-demand South American destination from Salt Lake City, and this new direct connection fills a long-standing gap in Delta’s route map.

The launch significantly improves access for leisure, business, and cultural travelers across the Western US, with convenient one-stop connections from key markets like San Francisco, Portland, Denver, and Las Vegas.

Delta’s growing partnership with LATAM Airlines (LA) expands the network even further. Passengers arriving in Lima can continue seamlessly to cities such as São Paulo (GRU), Santiago (SCL), and Buenos Aires (EZE), with coordinated schedules and streamlined international transfers.

Enhanced Experience

Travelers departing from SLC will enjoy one of Delta’s most modern airport environments. Concourse A features 50 Delta-operated gates, a 28,000 sqft Delta Sky Club, panoramic views, and luxury amenities.

A second Sky Club will open later this year in Concourse B, further enhancing pre-flight experiences for premium passengers.

In Lima, the Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) recently introduced a new state-of-the-art terminal, designed to simplify international connections and elevate passenger flow.

This upgrade supports the increased traffic and improves the transit experience for travelers connecting onward within South America.

Strategic Impact

The launch underscores Utah’s rising global relevance. According to Governor Spencer J. Cox, the new nonstop service is a vital link for business development, tourism, and cultural exchange.

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall also emphasized how this route strengthens ties between the two mountain capital cities, enhancing economic and social collaboration.

Airport officials echoed these sentiments, noting that this route enables nonstop access to a fourth continent from SLC. With connectivity to 30 cities across South America, the route aligns with Salt Lake’s growing status as a global crossroads.
