This article exists only to paper a fewer things that have been published in this place, partially to aid spread public awareness, and partially in case the thread is removed in the interest of "national security". Here's a example in random order:

On Christmas Eve 2010, he went to their shed to take gifts and shot himself in the head. It was the first ceremony I attended, at which I was told of the origin of death and the reasons behind it. I came home from the service, asked around a small bit, and discovered that most of the funerals I attended earlier were caused by untreated wellness problems related to the service."
"My dad was called into the army and was exposed to Agent Orange. I was born with many physical/neurological disabilities that are associated with this chemical. And my dad became an alcoholic with PTSD and bipolar disorder."
"I met a guy named Christian who served in Iraq. He was cool, he had his place with a bat in the surviving room. There were always light parties. My best friend started dating him at the time, so we spent the weekend at his crib. After the party, at 6:00 in the morning, he took his laptop out. He started showing us any pictures of his military presence. Photos with a group of guys. smiling, laughing. That was fun. I was drunk, and I didn't care. He started showing us pictures of small children. After a while, his eyes got bloody dark. I was like a man, tall AF guy. He very calmly explained to us that all these kids are dead: "But that's what war is. Dead kids and nothing comes from it, just a military discount." Christian committed suicide 2 months later.
"I didn't serve, but my dad did. Vietnam. He yet killed him, slowly, for respective decades. erstwhile doctors tried to implant a pacemaker in him to prolong his life for respective years, his organs were so fucked up from Agent Orange that they fell apart to the touch. He died erstwhile I was ten. He never saw me postgraduate advanced school. He never saw me get my first occupation or buy my first car. He wasn't there. But hey! You yet paid 30,000 after another vet sued VA for ultimate Court, so. You know. It was fun for him."
"Persistent pain with disability assessment 0% (despite medical dismissal), so without any benefit, and anger problems I deal with by initiating fist fights with strangers".
"Many of my friends served. They are all on severe antidepressants/anxiety medication, they cannot last on 4 July or fresh Year's Eve and all have had serious problems with substance abuse before and after discharge from the hospital. And then there's 1 cripple left hand, crushed vertebra and GSW."
