Przemysław Czarnek declared on September 14 on ZET Radio that Poland should proceed to aid Ukraine, but on conditions consistent with the Polish interest. PiS vice president linked this rule to national safety and advocated military training of adult men capable of service.
Polish aid must have a clear objective
Przemysław Czarnek maintained support for Ukraine's assistance, but rejected the support model without clear conditions. In an interview with Radio ZET, Vice president of the Law and Justice Department said that aid should be subject to the interests of the Polish state. He besides pointed out the decisions of the Kiev authorities concerning Poland, Polish entrepreneurs, past and the future.
That discrimination matters. Russian aggression launched on February 24, 2022 posed a direct threat to the full region and required fast response. After more than 4 years, Warsaw needs policies with circumstantial objectives, costs and conditions. A serious state helps to strengthen its own security.
The support for Ukraine's defence remains an component of holding Russia back from Polish borders. This does not exempt the authorities in Kiev from the work to respect the Polish reason of the state. This concerns the conditions of Polish companies, political relations and historical disputes. Czarnek wants general military training
In the same conversation, the politician was asked to reconstruct the universal intake. He replied that he supported specified a solution to any extent. He warned that it was not about recreating a model from the times of the Polish People's Republic, erstwhile the service lasted 2 years, and in the Navy 3 years.
Czarnek advocated military training of adult men who were fit for service due to their physical condition. This was justified by a simple principle: a citizen should know how to defend the Republic. This part of the message puts a circumstantial organisational task before you, much more serious than a one-time political declaration.
Universal training requires instructors, infrastructure, equipment, transparent wellness criteria and the protection of workplaces of people guided by exercises. A soldier and a reservist must have something to fight and what structure they operate in.
Defense begins with a capable state
Poland cannot build safety solely through arms transfers across the east border or through purchases of fresh equipment. It needs citizens prepared to act, to mobilize and to command. General Leon Komornicki warned against the deficiency of a coherent defence strategyThe strategy should find the form of the training.
The life of Poles and the ability of the state to deter an aggressor are at stake. Ukraine can buy Poland time and strategical depth, but this time must not be wasted. Warsaw should besides require reciprocity from Kiev and rebuild its own reserves. Allies are important. However, the eventual work for the Republic rests on Polish authorities and Polish society.
