As RMF FM reported, the exhumations of victims of Ukrainian nationalists in the village of Puźniki (Tarnopolskie province) will begin in mid-April. Both the Polish and Ukrainian sides will be active in the work. However, many question marks arise around the process itself.

Approximately 20 people will be active in exhumation works in Puźniki village in western Ukraine. The Freedom and Democracy Foundation liable for this work completes the composition of the mission, which is due to begin at the end of April.

Apart from the Freedom and Democracy Foundation, the squad will include anthropologists, archaeologists, forensics specialists and geneticist. The mission will consist of experts from the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin under the leadership of prof. Andrzej Ossowski. respective specialists from Ukraine will besides participate in the work.

According to RMF FM reporter, representatives of the National Memorial Institute besides reported their willingness to leave. It is ongoing to find the nature of their participation in this work.

The execution on the inhabitants of Puźniki village occurred in February 1945. 80 people were killed at the hands of Ukrainian nationalists from the CNS-UPA. erstwhile the remains are discovered and secured, solemn burials of victims of Volyn genocide will be held.

A small more light on the full case was cast by the head of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Hanna Wróblewski. In an interview with RMF FM, she argued that the ministry wanted “the work to be conducted by Polish teams”, as if it had not yet been established. – Part of the process on Ukrainian dirt is conducted by specialized, licensed Ukrainian centers, but it is not that we give it to Ukrainians – She wanted to supply Sparrow.

For any reason, the representatives of the government in Kiev did not want to let exhumations earned for the full process of professionals from the Institute of National Memory. Wróblewski did not want to talk about possible reasons for decisions. There are inactive 14 requests from the Polish side, in which, as the Minister of Culture said, the Ukrainian side indicated shortcomings to be completed.

But even if Kiev considers the further proposals positively, the Ministry of Culture will not inform about the places where the exhumations are planned. "In view of the delicate nature of the matter, communication to the public will only concern the effects of the work carried out, i.e. the completed stages of the action. The implementation of the various stages is kept up-to-date by the people, organisations, offices and institutions active in the cases,” wrote the ministry in consequence to the question of journalists “Rzeczpospolita”.

The head of the MKiD besides stressed that there is simply a Polish-Ukrainian peculiar negotiating committee in which Paweł Kowal operates. On the another hand, Deputy Minister of Culture Andrij Najos has, in Wróblewski's opinion, "to review the procedures to find what does not work, that these exhumation processes did not go so well."

The politician KO is known for whitening the work of the Ukrainian state for the genocide of 1943-45. In February 2024, Kowal stated that we could not request Kiev's designation of the fact about those events, due to the fact that "the Ukrainian state then did not exist".

We are talking about the crime committed by Polish citizens on another Polish citizens. any were Ukrainian, others were Polish. ... Crime does not incriminate the Ukrainian state due to the fact that it did not exist. He obliges all honest man to name and condemn her. I want my friends in Ukraine could get distant with it. – summarized Paweł Kowal.
