Pursuit, roofing and assaulting police – Colombian citizens detained in Raciborz

The nightly intervention of racibor police resulted in a dangerous accident and assault on an officer. Traffic Patrol spotted Toyota, whose driver, alternatively of stopping for control, hastened rapidly, ignoring both light and sound signals. Officers immediately take charge.

The driver not only continued to flee through the streets of the city, but besides drove dangerously, forcing another participants of the movement to make abrupt maneuvers. Eventually, on Gliwice Street in the Prince's Zawad, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car rolled over and stopped on the side. Despite the serious situation, the man jumped out of the car and tried to run on foot, but after a short pursuit he was stopped by the uniforms.

There was besides a passenger on the vehicle who suffered injuries at the time of the accident preventing him from leaving the vehicle himself. Police immediately took emergency action and tried to aid the victim. Then abruptly a man attacked 1 of the officers, hitting him in the face. The attack was completely unfounded and the officer suffered injuries. Intervention resulted in overpowering and stopping the aggressor. Both men, citizens of Colombia, were transported to the police detention centre. A 25-year-old driver will be liable for not stopping for roadside inspection, driving without the required clearances and causing a direct hazard in traffic. He is facing up to 5 years in prison and a fine of PLN 5,000. A 31-year-old passenger, on the another hand, was accused of violating the physical integrity of a public officer, which, according to the penal code, is punishable by 3 years imprisonment.

The case is handled by Racibor police, and the detainees will now answer to the court.
