The Sanctuary in Sadikr has traditionally become the destination of respective pilgrimages: it was visited by groups of believers from Obryty – adults and Children of St. Roch, Pułtusk, Pniewa, Rześnik and Wyszków, and a bicycle pilgrimage arrived. Saint Roch OFS (born in Montpellier, France, changed most likely before 1420), is simply a Franciscan terrier, saint of the Catholic Church. He was born the only boy of the Montpellier Governor, lost his parents at the age of 19. After selling out his parents' property, he gave everything to the mediocre and then went to Rome. In the Italian town of Acquapendente he was found by plague epidemic. At the local hospital, he took care of the infected. In Rome he spent 3 years, for his intercession God performed miraculous healings.
While returning to France, the saint became infected with plague in Piacenza. In order not to infect others, he hid in a close forest. According to the application, he was tracked down by a dog who was bringing him food. Roch was about to recover miraculously. He went back to France, but on the border he was taken for an Italian spy, died in unrecognized prison. After his death, St. Roch's cult began to spread in Europe. In Poland he was worshipped since the 15th century, he became a patron saint of protection from plague. He was given altars, statues, and chapels.
St. Roch's Church in Sadikr, is simply a subsidiary church of the parish of St. John the Baptist in Obryt close Pultusk. Originally there was a wooden chapel, erected most likely in the 17th century. Another church stood in 1812, was built utilizing material from the erstwhile temple. The temple sometimes fell prey to thieves – in 1999 4 oil paintings dating from the 19th century were stolen from it.
The church burned almost completely at night from 26 to 27 September 2003. Despite the extinguishing action, it was impossible to save him. The origin of the fire was most likely arson. Only a 19th century wooden bell tower survived. On May 25, 2008, Płocki Bishop Piotr Libera dedicated the rebuilt church. The church is known for the indulgences that take place in August. On 21 September 2020, the church in Sadikrzu was declared the Diocese Sanctuary of St. Roch.
