Under a coat of protection from “the speech of hatred”, Donald Tusk's government is preparing censorship for us. The task is due to go to the Sejm any day now – Mr Jerzy Kwasniewski, president of the Ordo Iuris Institute, alarms. And as he points out, the proposed solutions are, in practice, a ban on criticism of sex ideology or the political postulates of LGBT activists – including “homs” and adoption of children by single-sex couples.
"The penalties may besides await anyone who rejects the usage of names and pronouns incompatible with the real sex. It is not excluded that the tragedy of the flood will be utilized to accept the task without a real debate – erstwhile the attention of the media and the full society is directed towards the victims of the cataclysm" - warns Mr. Kwasniewski in the Ordo Iuris newsletter.
The issue is serious, and fresh events have made it clear that the government will be happy to usage the tools that let for extended censorship. present we have a case of prosecution for criticism of power!
– A 22-year-old girl was detained who complained on social media that after flooded towns “armed looters are coming, people are afraid to go out with dogs, deficiency of police, troops, dense equipment, primarily state aid.” The boy was arrested on ridiculous charges... ‘difficult rescue’ – reminds the head of Ordo Iuris. He adds that “the provisions written in Adam Bodnar's ministry are only the first step towards modern and universal censorship.”
In May, as Mr Kwasniewski says, the work of the European Citizens' Panel established in the EU was completed, in which the randomly elected citizens of 27 countries, under the watchful eye of officials, prepared 21 recommendations for "the tracking of hatred in society".
According to Mr Ordo Iuris, it was proposed that the EU should implement artificial intelligence mechanisms that would identify "hateful content" before they were published – that is, at the time of their introduction on the computer's keyboard.
As he adds, automatic mechanisms will block the publication of an illegal alert, and if the prohibited content can be published, they will automatically notify the European Public Prosecutor's Office, due to the fact that “a speech of hatred” is to be a crime prosecuted over national countries. Recommendations besides include the submission of all EU children to “avoidance of hatred” courses before the age of 8.
‘Recommendations European Citizens' Panel They're not theoretically binding. However, in practice they are already being implemented. 27 June Polish government agreed to Strategic Agenda 2024-2029 The European Commission, which includes the fight against misinformation and Hate speech. At the same time, Adam Bodnar created a peculiar government hate speech team. Among its members was Prof. Michał Bilewicz, who thinks that he is anti-Semitic (and so hateful) even... satirical drawings of Caesar Krysztopy – Mr. Kwaśniewski points out.
What is happening in Poland is unfortunately not an exception, but recommendations to implement not only Minister Bodnar. "The left-wing Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez besides referred to them, announcing a legal fight against fake news. What is characteristic, the fresh law should apply only to private independent media, due to the fact that the government seemingly by definition is telling the truth..." stressed Ordo Iuris.
He adds that the draconian punishments for "inciting hatred" are already threatening in Scotland, where the fresh law considers it a crime to usage unwanted pronouns and names for those declaring 1 of hundreds of "sex". And although the bill was protested by author J. K. Rowling, comedian R. Atkinson, and even Elon Musk, from April any guilty “hate” could go to prison for up to 7 years.
– Punishment for the usage of an undefined “hate speech” is constantly accompanied by initiatives to fight “disinformation” and “fake news”, which in fact always mean control of the press, electronic media and our freedom of speech. Interestingly, in a broad definition of prohibited “fake news” is besides placed alleged “malinformation”, that is, real information (!), but by the power-appointed “verifiers” deemed to be... harmful – notes Mr Kwasniewski.
In this context, it is worth recalling that the European Union Commissioner for the Common marketplace Thierry Breton has published an authoritative letter in which he threatened Elon Musk, the owner of the X portal (Twitter), with negative consequences for publishing an interview with Donald Trump.
But look at the Polish backyard. It turns out that the Polish government wants to introduce a conviction of up to 3 years in prison for "invoking hatred" due to "sexual orientation or sex identity" and for "insulting groups of people or individuals due to their (...) sexual orientation or sex identity".
– Let's not be delusional. The adoption of even specified a drastic amendment of the Criminal Code will not satisfy the radicals. This will only be a step towards ideological censorship, full in line with the EU guidelines. Christians, journalists, scientists, clergymen and social activists will be the first victims of censorship. Eventually, the victims of repression will be average people who will be thrown into prison for expressing their spiritual or social beliefs. If penalties can be provided even for inadvertently having hateful content or for attempting to enter forbidden words in the Facebook entry, the more the sending of our newsletter becomes a subversive activity, warns Mr. Kwasniewski.
