Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary, may have been in danger. The Hungarian service detained a 44-year-old man suspected of planning an assassination effort on the head of government. The case shook the public, especially since the fishy posted threats to politics online.
Arrest and charges
According to the prosecutor's office, the man was detained in the central part of Hungary. The territory court applied one-month detention to him, considering that there was a legitimate suspicion of planning the assassination of the Prime Minister.
During the detention, a "life-taking tool" was besides confiscated, although the prosecution did not uncover precisely what was found.
Threats in social media
The fishy was to print on TikTok recordings in which he threatened to kill Viktor Orban and another people. Although the materials were removed, the netizens managed to preserve them.
The 44-year-old admitted to preparing the recordings, claiming that he was forced to do so by a “family tragedy”. Currently, experts are investigating his intellectual state. If he is found guilty, he is facing a year to 5 years in prison.

The arrest case coincided with Orban's speech in France, where at the rally Patriots for Europe talked about threats to the Old Continent's identity.

Orban besides referred to the historical ties between Hungary and France, recalling the words of Victor Hugo and Albert Camus of Hungarian heroism. In his opinion, Hungary is present a symbol of opposition against the "ideological EU occupation".

The investigation into the man detained is ongoing. The prosecution shall not regulation out additional charges, depending on the results of intellectual examinations and evidence collected in the case.
Hungarian media speculates whether the fishy acted alone or could have been part of a wider group. However, there are no authoritative reports of possible accomplices.
