“Border” is simply a shocking animation that forces reflection. What else has to happen? Where is the limit of stupidity and indolence of the authorities on the east outskirts of the Republic? This recording is not so much an appeal to politicians, it's an appeal to the remainder of common sense! Due to the importance of the subject, we decided to conduct an interview with the creator of the clip – Arkadiusz Olszewski.

Arkadiusz Olszewski about the clip “Border”:

Red: What prompted you to make a recording entitled “Border”? What's it about?

It seems to me that what we all felt, proceeding rumors about the zero morale of soldiers on the border, the news of the death of Matthew Sitka – any kind of anger, disbelief, it takes a heart to add something from 1 another. The movie itself is simply a short – but suggestive – symbolic representation of the situation of a soldier on the border in a political and social context.

Red: Is this short clip an introduction to a longer haunting regarding the Belarusian hybrid operation against Poland?

A.O.: No, “Border” is simply a short format, a rebound from larger projects that I do all day. I avoid creating large productions addressing current events – besides due to the very long production time of a full-length animated film. At a time erstwhile the movie could actually be produced – the current subject would long cease to be current, hence in my films I am happy to return to more or little distant historical events.

Red: Was the Lord's intention as the author was to make an image designed to defy the allegations formulated by Agnieszka Holland in her movie “Green Border”?

A.O.: I would not describe it that way, from a simple fact – I did not watch “Green Border” (I avoid watching bad films), so it is hard for me to respond straight to Agnieszka Holland's film, although -indirectly – I most likely do. The films address the same subject, but from 2 utmost points of view. In addition, both forms and metres are completely different in both productions.

Red: In what direction do you think the situation on the title “border” is headed? Will Polish services yet be able to defend it?

A.O.: It's truly hard to tell, and I wouldn't dare guess. All I can do is hope, and to the measurement of modest measures – to go through art to viewers – to effort to increase pressure. As the video spread on the net at lightning velocity – 1 can hope that I am not the only 1 showing akin concerns.

Red: When can we anticipate your latest film, Jasyr? What level of advancement are there?

A.O.: Let's hope this year. The movie is at this point on completion, although it should be remembered that on this scale of production – even the last consecutive can take many months to work. It's a immense project, it's way besides large for any of my erstwhile films, and in any ways, it's besides large for all of them taken together, so production takes so long, but I don't want to jinx it. Jasyr deserves as much time as it takes to put everything on the last button.

Thank you for talking to me!
