Arkadiusz Miksa: athletics and Politics

Adam Szejnfeld, a senator from the PO, expressed his opinion on the Polsat program yesterday that Przemysław Babiarz was rightly suspended, as he should be afraid about commenting from the sports side alternatively than from the political side.

And I would gladly agree with a cynical senator if it wasn't for the fact that the beginning of the Olympics was political. After all, Babiarz talked about the number of medals won by individual states, he talked about their medal chances at this Olympics, due to the fact that this is the beginning of the event, which is expected to connect people and not divide them. A fewer days ago, a fellow editor from Polish Przemysław Piasta rightly pointed out that the luminaires of the supporters of the Legion of Warsaw, although patriotic in the message, fit in the message of a political character.

And as we see after what happened in Paris, it's a double-edged weapon. And the another side's possible is devastating to us. After all, this is not just about Paris, due to the fact that we have the promotion of rainbow deviants at sporting events, we have any gestures of kneeling, which athletes who rightly do not feel the request to do. We have the persecution of athletes for only playing in 1 country or another. The Olympics were politicized before and after the war during the Cold War. This was primarily with large harm to athletes. It seemed that after 1989 there was a chance for normality, unfortunately, as we see it is impossible.

A athletics that should unite people regardless of their nationality, religion or political views has become an increasingly aggressive battlefield. Sportsmen themselves besides do as politicians or publically manifest their views, see Christmas or Turkish footballers sympathetic to terrorist organizations. That's why I'm in favour of not having Chrobry's sword at the games, but besides promoting sexual deviance or mocking any religion.

Unfortunately, what happened in Paris was not a proverbial accident at work, but a deliberate scheduled hit. Christians were struck due to the fact that the planet of Islam would respond specifically and quickly. Christians, on the another hand, are like calves led to slaughter, you can spit in their faces and they will see their faults. To conclude in mention to the prologue of my thoughts, if during the period of the PRL, 1 of the sports commentators during the beginning of the Olympics, e.g. in Moscow commented critically on the russian Union, then for Szejnfeld he would be a hero and would not say that this political message and should not take place. People fighting for freedom of speech today, in power, are stalking others.
