Prof. Andrzej Nowak made a letter to Adam Michnik, Prof. Ewa Łętowska, Prof. Adam Strzembosz and Prof. Andrzej Zoll in the case of Fr. Michał Olszewski and 2 officials of the Ministry of Justice who have been in custody for months. The student points out that editor Adam Michnik, himself experienced in PRL prisons, knows how easy it is to persecute people. He proposed to the addressees of his letter that he appealed to the Ombudsman to assist the 3 arrested.
We present below the full letter of Prof. Andrzej Nowak and the Members who joined him as a consequence of the deficiency of consequence of “Gazeta Wyborcza” who did not respond to the request for publication and after the refusal of “Rzeczpospolita” agreeing to publication only on condition of rewording the text.
Letter to ed Adam Michnik, Prof. Ewa Łętowska, Adam Strzembosz and Andrzej Zoll – on 3 prisoners
"Since Fr Michał Olszewski and 2 MS officials have been arrested, it has been over six months. Keeping people in prison from being guilty is an exceptional measurement and is only applicable in the event that a trial cannot be carried out otherwise. In the meantime, Fr.Olszewski is suspected that his foundation did not meet the conditions of the competition organized by MS during Z. Ziobry's time, and the officials said that the competition had been conducted as if it had failed".
For the first 60 hours after the detention of Fr Olszewski and arrested with him officials were deliberately tormented and humiliated, and this is in a way that is considered by global conventions to be torture: isolation, increased checks, cameras for purposes and lighting light all hr (I mention to the Onet portal). The current Minister of Justice, Adam Bodnar, erstwhile he was a spokesperson for civilian rights, resented the usage of alleged handcuffs linked to the child's murderer. Today, he is not disturbed by this kind of harassment against Fr Olszewski and 2 women, Mrs Ursula and Mrs Karolina. "Despite the actions of the prosecution and the prison service, a run of slander is organised against detainees. They are portrayed as corrupt persons, although in the course of the investigation there has not even been a charge of misappropriating material advantages, not to mention evidence."
I took the liberty of starting this letter with quotes from the appeal, a fewer days ago signed by me together with Jerzy Kalina, Antoni Libera, Lech Majewski, Jan Polkowski, Lorenzo Rymkiewicz and Bronisław Wildstein. The appeal, by some, read with seriousness, by others mocked, was addressed generally: to Polish citizens. I let myself to repeat it and address it this time, only in my own name, specifically – with the hope that it will have a applicable effect on the relief of 3 people.
I'm directing him to 4 authorities. Unfortunately, in the state of specified profound divisions as are between us, citizens of the Republic of Poland, there are no longer, it seems, authorities respected and recognized widely. That is why I am addressing this appeal to the 4 undisputed authorities of this part of the Polish public opinion, which supports the current majority of parliament and elected by the government. due to the fact that this government and the prosecutors' supervisor, the Minister of Justice, have in their hands decisions about the destiny of 3 prisoners.
Editor Adam Michnik, as an experienced prisoner, knows perfectly well that the easiest thing to do is to stalk people with seemingly petty harassment without “big names”, which the world's media will never forget. Supporting these weaker ones just seems to be an apparent moral imperative. Especially since it is not about criminals or people who have committed crimes of suspects, pedophilia, execution or large-scale corruption (as was the case, for example, with respect to those who were besides detained in criminal custody, for the erstwhile power, b. Minister Sławomir N.), but about people who, if I am not mistaken, are forced to attest to others, from a political point of view of the more crucial figures from the erstwhile staff of the Ministry of Justice. Since I utilized the word moral imperative, it is worth recalling its old definition: man can never be treated as a means. And here they are being held in what is called a "extract arrest" in prison slang, and are being treated as means, regardless of their individual dignity, that they have names, families, people close to them who are waiting for them, who request them.
Maybe I'm incorrect about my legal assessment of this situation, due to the fact that I'm not a lawyer, but I dare ask professors Adam Strzembosz, Andrzej Zoll and Ewa Łętowska, do they consider the harassment of the 3 persons mentioned in this list to be justified? And, utilizing the word prof. Łętowska on the "wavering of the jurisprudence line", isn't it worth jumping to Mondo Duplantis's measure, but beyond political divisions to look into the face of just 3 undoubtedly suffering people? People no court has yet decided about. Can you aid these 3 people and appeal, more effectively than I, or, for example, 25 000 people who have complained to the Ombudsman about this? Call for temporary detention and investigative activities, if necessary, in a different mode?
With the hope of help, I give my regards

I sent this letter to the editors of “Gazeta Wyborcza” and then to “the Republic” asking for publication, due to the fact that I do not have direct contact with the recipients, and I think these 2 titles scope them. "Gazeta Wyborcza", until I compose these words, did not respond in any way to my request. The “Rzeczpospolita” editorial responded after little than 2 days, proposing a possible printing of the letter, but after rewording it. I accepted this offer with gratitude, but I felt that it would be better to print this letter in the way it was written.
It is besides worth adding that there was a circumstantial comment on the previously published appeal-request on the same issue. She published this comment “Gazeta Wyborcza” in the Saturday edition of 12th of the year, entitled “Cowards with God and honor on banners”. In fact, the author of the commentary (Wojciech Czuchnowski) confirmed the worst explanation of the reason for the detention of 3 people whose destiny is called upon here. They are treated simply as hostages: they are to sit until Minister A's “dimension of justice”. Bodnara will not surrender to their superiors from the erstwhile government, treated by the present as a "organised crime group". “Gazeta Wyborcza” wrote: “There is simply a simple way that both officials and Fr Olszewski can leave the detentions and wait for a trial to begin erstwhile the prosecution collects the materials and sends the indictment to court. It is adequate for Mr Romanowski to halt running, to appear in the prosecutor's office and, as he declares publicly, to take work for the decisions he has taken. due to the fact that he was the trustee of the Fund and he arbitrarily decided who should get the money.”
The life has added comment on this comment: Minister Romanowski volunteered 15 X to the D.A.'s office, does not run away, does not evade....
Unfortunately, the hostages of the current government are inactive suffering in prison.
That's why I'm taking this appeal to red. Adam Michnik and Professors Ewa Łętowska, Adam Strzembosz and Andrzej Zoll repeat – with real hope of their intervention.
