MONTREAL- Air Canada (AC) strengthens its global hub at Toronto Pearson (YYZ) with new international routes launching in winter 2025 and summer 2026.

The expansions connect Toronto to destinations in South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Asia, and Europe, enhancing connectivity for over 150 locations worldwide.

These additions include nonstop flights to Shanghai (PVG) and Budapest (BUD), plus resumed service to Prague (PRG), building on winter launches to Rio de Janeiro (GIG) and Lima (LIM).

Air Canada aims to solidify Toronto Pearson as a premier North American hub through fleet upgrades and infrastructure partnerships.

Air Canada 8 New Routes

Air Canada expands its network at Toronto Pearson, introducing nonstop flights to Shanghai and Budapest starting summer 2026, alongside increased service to Prague.

These routes restore key connections to Asia and Europe, supporting trade, tourism, and economic growth in Canada’s largest city. The airline also resumes flights to Tel Aviv next month, further diversifying options for travelers.

Winter 2025 brings new services to South America and Mexico, including Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Cartagena (CTG), Puerto Escondido (PXM), Pointe-à-Pitre (PTP), and Guadalajara (GDL).

These additions target leisure and business markets, with frequencies designed for peak demand.

This growth aligns with Air Canada’s strategy to leverage Toronto’s position as a gateway linking North America to global economies.

Growth Strategy

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Air Canada, highlights the airline’s bold trajectory to cement Toronto Pearson as a leading hub.

He notes upcoming fleet introductions, including Boeing 787-10 aircraft based in Toronto and Airbus A321XLR models, which will enable further international expansions and drive employment.

Deborah Flint, President and CEO of Toronto Pearson, emphasizes the airport’s role in this partnership, including plans under Pearson LIFT to improve passenger experiences and global links.

The program focuses on infrastructure upgrades to handle increased traffic and support economic expansion in the Greater Toronto area.

Premium Services and Cargo Capabilities

Air Canada offers premium amenities at Toronto Pearson, such as the Signature Suite, awarded World’s Best Business Class Lounge Dining by Skytrax.

Travelers access Concierge services, three Maple Leaf Lounges, and two Air Canada Cafes for enhanced comfort.

The airline’s cargo operations feature advanced facilities for specialized shipments, from pharmaceuticals to equine transport, positioning Toronto as a key logistics hub.
