A collection of signatures is underway as part of the run “We'll figure it out” which is led by the Women's Strikes in Poland and Eastern Initiative. The aim of the action is, among others, to supply access to free abortion in countries where it is legal, to destruct financial barriers to EU citizens, and to extend the debate on abortion in Poland and to popularise it as part of wellness protection. Activists from many European feminist organisations They want to collect a million signatures..

– Of course, this is not the perfect solution – it is simply a solution that ridicules our government, which is incapable to keep its promises – the initiators say. "Any person, citizen or resident of the European Union will be able to receive a European service in those countries that join the project, taking money from EU backing for this purpose. Without certificates, papers, referrals – she spoke during the conference announcing the action Marta Lempart.

– We will not cry or ask, we will just embrace ourselves and scope for the various tools to which we have the right as citizens of the European Union. ♪ Up ahead ♪ intense weeks of signature collection. We start April 24 at 12:00 at the Women's Rights Roundabout," said Dominika Lasota.

Politicians failed, or possibly they lied.

Conservative politicians are inactive playing women's rights, inactive holding us hostage as hostages of the current power struggle. They promised us wellness and safety before the elections – seeking our votes. After the election, it turned out that even the most basic proposal to decriminalize abortion was besides complicated for them. Simon Holovnia stated that abortion is not worth mixing into local elections. That there is no request to read the proposals of the Act in December, that you gotta wait until the PSL cooks its, and then that 8 March is simply a bad date, and better will be 11 April.

On 11 April, a adequate number of signatures were collected to push all 4 proposals for laws – 2 Lefts and after 1 civilian Coalition and the 3rd Way – into committee work. "To push" due to the fact that many PSL politicians voted together with the Confederate and the PiS, and some, like Roman Gierty from KO, whose credibility before the election was ridden by their own daughter, simply did not come to the vote.

– We voted for the 3rd Way tactically to remove the authoritarian PiS from power. It was not Simon Holovnia who won the election, it was us citizens who voted for the democratic authority, which is now ignoring the will of its voters," said Dominika Lasota.

There are many indications that the thought of debating all projects at erstwhile is stalling. The same is actual of the thought of a referendum, which, according to 3rd Way politicians, was to be the strongest commitment for president Duda. However, before the committee develops a consensus that will be acceptable to the majority, the president may change.

Women's Strike and Initiative Eastern They say enough! No more waiting, no more playing with women's lives and health. They take matters into their own hands. They have developed a European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) to guarantee accessible and free abortion for EU citizens.

The initiative has already been formally reviewed by the Commission and will be discussed by the EP after the signatures have been collected. A fresh parliament to be elected as a consequence of June elections.

Abortion on the table

Women one more time scope out to politicians, and the collection of signatures will be part of a promotion run before the elections that will take place on June 7. due to the fact that this election is very important. We must not let the majority in the fresh EP to receive the mobilised environments of right-wing conservatives and open or hidden opponents of further integration. On the occasion of collecting signatures (in Poland the goal is 250 thousand) activists of the East and the Women's Strike will tour Poland, encouraging to take part in elections to the European Parliament.

– We can see that support for the far right is increasing. The same thing we saw last year, in March, erstwhile support for the Confederacy abruptly reached 15 percent points of support. That is why we have decided to actually join the initiative, but besides to express very clearly to our citizens that we cannot give the European Parliament to fundamentalists, people who have very close views on Fascism. That is why we encourage women and young people to vote again. We see that abortion is what needs to be placed on the table. In Europe, inactive 20 million women do not have access to it. We may not necessarily be satisfied with politics, with politicians, but we gotta choose and want to choose those and those who vote so that our demands are met – the activists explain.

There is no real democracy without women's rights. As in more than a 100 years ago in Poland, and in another countries a small later, women heard that their participation in elections, their right to vote and to stand as candidates would not truly change anything, so now we hear that our rights to self-determination, our reproductive rights have nothing to do with politics or democracy, due to the fact that they are a "worldview" issue.

They're not. They're no more, the louder Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish says it's different. The longer Simon Holovnia maintains work on laws to warrant women's safety and dignity. Since women have won political rights, the agenda includes issues previously overlooked: education, working conditions, wellness protection, housing, social assistance, discrimination and violence, and yet reproductive rights. surviving conditions have improved, public policies have begun to be developed more just, respecting the needs of various social groups, not just those privileged. Since we can vote all, politicians must prove that their actions are for our good.

The Law and Justice has proved that all aspect of our lives is connected with politics. Now this is shown by the Polish 2050 coalition (or as Marta Lempart – Poland 1993) and PSL.

There is no democracy without reproductive rights. As you can see, all organizations sponsored by authoritarian, undemocratic Russia hit the rights of women and LGBT people first. This was described by Elizabeth Korolczuk and Agnieszka Graff in the book Who's afraid of gender? Weak, frightened women, uncertain of their fate, blackmailed by the suspicion that they are lying on the lives of their children, forced to hotel to life-threatening abortions of the high-paying, but carried out illegally, under suspicious conditions, is the weaker, more susceptible society. so there will be no strong democracy without women's right to their own bodies.

The east Initiative and Women's Strike is international, its slogan is My Voice My Choice. The campaign's plan and legal basis was developed by the Institute on 8 March from Slovenia. Initiative signatures will be collected online and on paper, the action starts on Wednesday 24 April at 12.00 at the Women's Rights Roundabout in Warsaw.
