Grzegorz Braun, leader of the Confederation of the Polish Crown (KKP), declared authoritative support for Karol Nawrocki before the second circular of presidential elections. In his message to David Mysior, he declared:
– In a fewer twelve hours, I will vote for Nawrocki. I'll go to the circuit election commission. I'll give the level an crucial vote and put a cross next to the name Nawrocki.
However, Braun pointed out that his declaration may not have much impact on his constituents:
– It's a key part of information that won't change much or change anything in the plans of most of his constituents. due to the fact that they mostly didn't request any of my recommendations.
In the first circular Braun won about 1.3 million votes. This makes his electorate play an crucial function in the second round, which will take place on 1 June. Nawrocki, a candidate supported by PiS, won 29.1% of the vote and ranked second – behind Rafał Trzaskowski.
Sławomir Mentzen, leader of fresh Hope and 1 of the main creators of the Confederacy's success, besides referred to the case. Although he did not give authoritative support to any candidate, he clearly distanced himself from Trzaskowski yesterday:
– I see no reason to vote for Rafał Trzaskowski," Mentzen said.
Karol Nawrocki responded to his words, emphasizing the convergence of any of their programs:
– I signed 8 points of Sławomir Mentzen, any of which were part of my program. I considered it a thing, let's call it, logical, natural, that we think likewise about Poland in the campaign.
The decisions of Braun and Mentzen can play a crucial function in the coming second round. The question is: how many Confederate voters will choose to follow leaders' indications, and how much will they bet on independency – as Braun himself suggests.
