Dear Readers, Dear Members of the Association!
Today we celebrate the 76th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. For 1 patriotic object of pride, for another negative emotions in the assessment of the motives and decisions of the commanders of the National Army of the Polish Underground State.
As an association, we do not join the emotional assessments of this event. However, specified a immense military, logistical and organizational venture, which is part of the extended action “Burza”, which aimed to liberate Poland from the German occupation, cannot stay without reflection. Examples of a substantive analysis of the experiences of this largest, alongside Stalingrad, the planet War II urban conflict can be 2 books promoted by our association: “The Warsaw Uprising 1944. The combat tactics in the city” and moved to modern ground and supplemented with experiences from later conflicts “The combat tactics in urbanized areas”.
Let present be for all of us not only a memory of the Heroes fighting for 63 days with the German occupier for the freedom of Warsaw, but besides a reason to think about who and in what circumstances caused that despite heroism, dedication and mobilization, this uprising did not have much effect on the postwar geopolitical strategy in Central Europe.
Let us remember, analyse and draw conclusions that will make us smarter with the wisdom and experience of generations of Poles fighting and dying for the freedom and independency of the Republic of Poland.
