The May bombing was a military coup in Poland on 12–15 May 1926 by supporters Józef Piłsudski. The origin of the assassination was the hard political and economical situation of the country and Piłsudski's discontent with the action of parliament and government. The fights between government troops and Piłsudski's support troops were mainly held in Warsaw and led to the death of respective 100 people. After a fewer days president Stanisław Wojciechowski and the government resigned. As a consequence of the bombing, the government took over the Piłsudski-related environment, and in Poland the governments of the sanctions began, which reduced parliamentary democracy.

Today I celebrated the victims of the May bombing, which cost the lives of 379 people – 164 civilians and 215 soldiers. The more a man digs into the past of the Second Republic, the harder it is to look at Józef Piłsudski as a monument hero without blemish. erstwhile he worked in the PPS, he organized the fight for independency and built the Polish state after 1918 he undoubtedly played a historical role. The problem begins erstwhile an uncritical cult of an individual is created out of designation for past accomplishments, in which each subsequent decision is automatically justified.
After the May bombing (12 May 1926) Piłsudski increasingly deviated from democratic standards and increasingly turned towards authoritarianism. Bereza Kartuska remains 1 of the darkest cards of those governments, and it is impossible to honestly silence her just due to the fact that Piłsudski had previously been a hero of the fight for independence.
History is not black and white – 1 can at the same time admit the large merits of Pilsudski and condemn his later actions.
